Sunday, Nov 15. Took the day to play at Copper. Absolutely gorgeous partly cloudy day, sun breaking through the clouds made for some really cool lighting. Snow was brutal – super patchy ice and soft, so you never know when your edge is going to hold. Park setup is still fun though. (more…)

Wednesday, November 4th, I took a trip down to N3L Optics at the Cherry Creek Mall in Denver. N3L, named after Newton’s three laws of motion, is a specialty eyewear store focused on high-end performance goggles and sunglasses. (more…)

Keystone Opening | Day 10 of 30 Days on the Road

November 5. Back on the road, I drove up to Keystone for their opening day. Coming from Boulder I had no desire to leave early enough to be there at 9 when the gondola started up, and when I pulled in around noon the parking lot was packed and the gondola line was huge. (more…)

How do you make a Swollen Members concert better? By riding in the morning, that’s how. With Swollen playing at the Fox Theater in Boulder I was committed to the drive, and since I was driving right past Loveland, it was time to get on snow again. (more…)

One Day Off | Day 7 of 30 Days on the Road

With all the travel, a catch-up day was well overdue, and Monday 11/2 was that day. First thing was getting the high-speed internet turned on at the condo so I could start uploading photos. While I uploaded photos I cleaned up a bit, and started unpacking. The other big event of the day was heading up to the mountain to check out the construction progress and then pick up my Intrawest season pass. (more…)

First Day On Snow 11/1 | Day 6 of 30 Days on the Road

November 1st, 2009 – Finally, a day on snow! I hit up Loveland with Steamboat friends Dylan, Carly, Doug, and Shay from shayboarder.com. The sky was a deep blue, the sun was out, and the snow was pretty fun. Loveland had two lifts running and a couple of “white ribbons of death” to choose from. (more…)
