Sugarloaf opens for skiing and riding Nov. 9
0CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Sugarloaf kicks off the 2007-08 winter season and welcomes skiers and riders back to the slopes on Friday, Nov. 9, more than a week ahead of schedule and with the most open vertical drop in the East. Snowmaking is Underway at Sugarloaf USA
0CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – In preparation for the opening of the 2007-08 winter season, Sugarloaf awakened the western mountains of Maine on Sunday with the familiar sound of snowguns echoing through Carrabassett Valley. With temperatures in the low to mid 20s, snowmakers blanketed the Sluice trail under a barrage of snow for more than 18 hours. (more…)

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Sugarloaf, Maine’s tallest skiable peak and home of New England’s only lift serviced above treeline skiing and riding, has embarked upon the resort’s largest single-season capital expansion in more than a decade. Sugarloaf enters the 2007/2008 winter season with greater snowmaking capacity, enhanced grooming, facility upgrades, and a new learning surface lift. The $4 million investment also includes a new public transit system and a major expansion and renovation to the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. (more…)
