We’ll be there in limited capacity this year, so for the daily blow-by-blow you should cruise over to Shay Boarder.

According to the report, women are responsible for more than 80% of snowsports spending, helping to make purchasing decisions for the men in their lives and spending a record $941 million on female-specific gear.

State of the Industry video release from SIA
0Record snowfalls likely helped lead to record snow sports sales in the 2010/11 season, and SnowSports Industries America (SIA) committed its research team to digging deeper into the data and build a bigger picture of where our industry stands. In their new “State of the Industry” video, SIA has created a “lessons learned” that provides helpful insights into consumer spending habits, demographics, and emerging product categories.
The video is a little cheesy, but well worth a watch if you’re at all interested in the numbers behind our sport. You can watch it and read the press release after the break.
