Winter Dew Tour Announces Schedule Of Events For Second Tour Stop At Mount Snow Resort Jan. 8-11

NEW YORK – December 15, 2008 – The Winter Dew Tour today announced the schedule of events for its second stop of the season, Jan. 8-11 at Mount Snow Resort in West Dover, Vermont. The world’s top snowboard and freeski athletes will compete for the coveted Dew Cup and a share of the $1.5 million prize purse offered at the end of the three-stop series.
The athlete roster reads like the who’s who of the modern freeski and snowboard movement, highlighted by multiple X Games and Olympic medalists including snowboard athletes Shaun White, Hannah Teter, Andreas Wiig, Travis Rice and Gretchen Bleiler. Freeskiing superstars Tanner Hall, Sarah Burke and Simon Dumont will join the snowboarders on the impressive roster of athletes. (more…)
Horgmo Wins Big Air; White Claims 6star Swatch Ttr Title

Tokyo, Japan – December 14th, 2008: With the previous day’s Quarterpipe session locked away, thousands of stoked out Japanese snowboard fans packed the Tokyo Dome for the legendary Big Air competition of the phenomenal 6Star Swatch TTR Nissan X-Trail Jam. In an outstanding final, Norwegian rider Torstein Horgmo managed to pull out the best tricks of the night to win the second of two formats, but it was Shaun White (USA) with the highest combined score from both the Big Air and the Quarterpipe who claimed the first 6Star TTR Title and 1000 ranking points of the 08/09 Season.
A qualification field of 16 riders was narrowed down to 8 for the semi-final where Nicolas Mueller (SUI) and Shaun White set the precedent for an epic finale. In a unanimous decision by the judges, the best trick was awarded to Mueller who amazed everyone in the semis with his first ever Double Backflip in a comp that first looked a normal Backflip until Nicolas decided to to go for a second one “I am stoked,” he said with a big smile on his face. “I tried it once in powder on a small kicker, but this was the first time I did it in a competition.” (more…)
Red Bull Announces First Sky-high Urban Snowboard Event In The City That Never Sleeps

New York, NY – December 4, 2008: Join 16 of the world’s best snowboarders in New York City on the banks of the East River February 5th from 3 – 9 pm, as they compete to own a piece of a $100,000 prize purse at the 5Star Swatch TTR event. Red Bull Snowscrapers marks the debut of the largest snowboarding contest held in an urban setting in North America complete with top music acts (soon to be announced) and a spectator village located in East River Park (corner of Houston and FDR).
For the first-time ever, Red Bull will create an amazing 90-foot state-of-the-art structure for top riders to own the iconic Manhattan skyline. The athlete’s will drop in from a nine-story building before flying off the specially constructed kicker toward an immense 80-foot long hip. The innovative hip built by world-renowned designers Frank Wells and Mike Bettera of Snow Park Technology allows riders multiple angles of trajectory— frontside or backside, landing on either the right or left side of the massive 45-degree spine. Additionally, the groundbreaking ramp design will allow spectators to get up close and personal giving fans an opportunity to experience the action first hand as the riders spin roughly four stories into the sky. MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Nov. 17, 2008 – Snowboarding phenomenon and Target athlete Shaun White has made his way to Target stores in virtual form, as the exclusive edition of Ubisoft’s newest action sports title, Shaun White Snowboarding, is now available.
The special Target edition of the game, available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™ home video game system from Nintendo, will have exclusive extended content and features that consumers won’t be able to find anywhere else, including the Target Mountain – an entire mountain environment found only in the Target edition. Gamers will also be able to take advantage of exclusive jibs and additional scenes. Burton Movie Tour Hits Denver on October 21

Burlington, VT (October 13, 2008) — Burton riders Keegan Valaika, Heikki Sorsa, Jeremy Jones, Trevor Andrew and Madison Ellsworth will be in Denver on Tuesday, October 21 to sign autographs, meet local riders and show the new Burton movie It’s Always Snowing Somewhere.
It’s Always Snowing Somewhere features scenes with the Burton team traveling the northern hemisphere, from Austria to Alaska.
