SIA.09 – Salomon & Bonfire

Salomon and Bonfire has a great product lineup for 2010; excellent colors, great products, and a few new treats thrown in as well. Salomon’s display for the g.i.f.t. project, showing materials and energy used in their board production, was one of the most impressive “green” displays at SIA. It does a great job of communicating the impact new construction techniques can have on the environment. The

Salomon line looks great overall, but the first thing that caught my eye was Bonfire’s boots. The boots are being made in Salomon’s factory, but they are definitely not Salomon boots; different design team, and very different colorways. No big stories with Bonfire’s outerwear, but it all looks good, great colors an solid cuts. (more…)

Salomon Girls Charge at Dew Tour

0

Temperatures were sub freezing in Breckenridge as the crew of Salomon girls attacked massive jumps at the first Winter AST Dew Tour stop.

Salomon Snowboards’ British darling Jenny Jones took silver with consistent tricks throughout the whole competition followed by Transworld Snowboarding’s Rookie of the Year nominee Bev Veuilleumier. Bev took the bronze for her back to back 3’s and standout frontside 720. Jamie Anderson rounded things out with a 4th place. Burton team rider Spencer O’ Brian took home the gold.

“The weather was super gnarly and everyone was having a hard time with it and it was really good to see our girls handle it and put down runs that would have been good in any other contest. Three girls out of the top 4 is pretty rad,” said team manager Java Fernandez.

Salomon Snowboards is proud to announce the addition of 17 year old Jed Anderson to the 2009 Am Team. Coming off of a head-turning 4 days of shooting half part in TWS film “These Days”, Jed has already begun shooting for his first full video part in this season’s coming release from Transworld Snowboarding.

TWS film director Joe Carlino says, “Seriously, Jed is one of the top 3 best snowboarders I’ve ever shot. We just got back from our first trip filming for the new video. It’s November 28th and Jed walked away with about 15 shots.” Not bad for a 17 yr old kid that’s never shot a major video part. Evan Lefebvre of Snowboarder Magazine says, “Jed’s that lucky little kid that you knew growing up who could do everything better than you all the time—but not in an asshole ‘O’doyle rules’ sort of way.” (more…)
