Heavenly Mountain Resort, Calif./Nev. – October 4, 2009 – Lake Tahoe’s first winter storm rolled through the area last night, dropping four to six inches of snow on Heavenly Mountain Resort above 9,000 feet, and three to four inches at Lake level. Winter has definitely made an appearance at South Lake Tahoe, and skiers and snowboarders are preparing for Heavenly’s opening day which is just 47 days away, scheduled for November 20, 2009, weather and conditions permitting.

The sign at Heavenly's California Lodge, elevation 6,565 feet

This first snow of the season signals that winter is right around the corner, with Heavenly slated to start making snow in 27 days. Heavenly season passes are on sale now for $369 at www.skiheavenly.com, and the Epic season pass (unlimited, unrestricted skiing or riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly and Arapahoe Basin) is on sale for $599 at epicpass.com.

Vail Resorts travel expert Scott Donovan advises skiers and snowboarders to “book early” for the best savings. Guests who book a two-day, two-night early-season (Nov. 29 – Dec. 15, 2009) vacation by October 30, 2009, get the third and fourth nights free. That works out to $49 per person per day for lodging and lift tickets. Some restrictions apply. Visit skiheavenly.com or call 1-800-HEAVENLY (432.8365) to get more information or to book your trip.

Colorado Expecting Major Storm Tomorrow!

Heavenly, Calif./Nev. – Dec. 15, 2008 – Winter doesn’t officially arrive until Dec. 22, but try telling that to skiers and snowboarders who are enjoying the first powder turns of the season at Heavenly Mountain Resort today. The first major Tahoe-area snowstorm of the season delivered almost a foot-and-a-half to the Heavenly slopes since Friday (10 inches overnight) with another 10-15 inches expected today.

Thanks to the new snow, the Heavenly mountain operations team is opening new terrain today and expecting to open more terrain this week with more snow. The same storm that’s hitting Heavenly today is expected to move into Colorado tonight. Over the weekend, the Colorado resorts of Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone were hit with up to two feet of fresh powder and are bracing for another winter storm advisory tonight through 6 p.m. MST Tuesday. Since Dec. 1, Vail (www.vail.com) and Beaver Creek (www.beavercreek.com) have tallied more than four feet of snow and Beaver Creek is on track to break its December snowfall record.

Deep Snow, Deep Savings
Now is the time to book your last-minute holiday stay or January ski vacation. Airfares have dropped significantly in the past few weeks and Vail Resorts vacation planning experts recommend skiers and snowboarders take advantage of the falling prices and falling snow. The best bets:

* Last-minute holiday stays. A $149 Christmas vacation. Stay for $149 per night through Dec. 25 in the heart of the Vail Village at the Austria Haus Hotel. www.VailAllTheLove.com
* A post-holiday getaway. Look for deals the first full week of January (anytime after Jan. 4) – like the January Ski and Stay Package at Heavenly for just $85 per person, per night. www.skiheavenly.com
* Mid-January rates like the $99 room rates at Breckenridge and Keystone are a sure bet. www.snow.com for more information and restrictions.
* And, Mid-January airfares like:

Sample airfares for Reno Airport for access to Heavenly Mountain Resort:

Chicago, on Southwest from Chicago-Midway to Reno from $226 roundtrip.*

Sample airfares for Eagle/Vail airport for access to Vail and Beaver Creek:
Chicago, Daily non-stops on American from Chicago-O’Hare to Eagle Airport from $260 roundtrip.*

New York, Daily non-stops on American from JFK to Eagle Airport from $219 roundtrip.*

Sample airfares for Denver International Airport for access to Breckenridge and Keystone:

Chicago, on Southwest from Chicago-Midway to Denver International Airport from $188 roundtrip.*

Dallas-Ft. Worth, on Frontier from Dallas-Ft. Worth to Denver International Airport from $198 roundtrip.*

*Airfares quoted based on travel dates in mid-January, are subject to availability and may change at anytime.

For daily snow reports, deals or vacation planning tips for Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly, visit snow.com or sign up for Vail Resorts email newsletter online.

South Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev. – October 1, 2008 – Three new trails, on-mountain lodge renovations, radio frequency ticket technology and a major trail re-grade headline resort improvements Heavenly Mountain Resort announced today for the 2008-09 season. Under Heavenly’s 10-year master plan approved in April 2007, guests can look forward to new lifts, new on-mountain restaurants, new lodging and base villages that will greatly improve the overall experience at Lake Tahoe’s leading destination resort.

“The debut of Olympic Express and the Heavenly Flyer ZipRider last season set Heavenly apart as the next great destination resort,” said Blaise Carrig, Heavenly’s chief operating officer. “This winter guests will expect more improvements including new gladed trails in Ski Ways and the re-grading of Skyline Trail, which is the biggest little project at Heavenly in terms of its positive impact on the guest experience.”

The Skyline Trail re-grade is a great example of Heavenly addressing the concerns of its guests. Skyline Trail is the picturesque 10,000 foot high traverse connecting the California side of the mountain to the Nevada side. With its new, gentle 10-percent downhill grade, all levels of skiers and snowboarders will be able to enjoy unparalleled views of majestic Lake Tahoe as they slide their way into Nevada.

Three new trails will debut in California this season; two in Ski Ways glades and another in Powderbowl Woods. The runs continue the trend Heavenly began in the Olympic Express area last season; Heavenly is glading the trails, leaving tree islands far enough apart to groom the run with a snow cat and will serve upper-intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, giving them a groomed, tree-skiing experience. The two trails in Ski Ways Glades will be designated as black diamonds (most difficult), and the trail in Powderbowl Woods will be designated as a blue square (intermediate/more difficult).

On the Nevada side, Heavenly is providing more on-mountain, indoor seating by adding 160 seats to East Peak Lodge. The new area gives guests more room to relax and recharge when they are not out enjoying the mountain. The Higher Grounds coffee bar originally located on the East Peak deck will move inside East Peak lodge this winter, and an additional Higher Grounds location will debut this winter at Lakeview Lodge. All on-mountain coffee locations will offer an organic, free-trade coffee blend from Starbucks called Serena.

Heavenly has continued its commitment to offering Lake Tahoe’s finest corduroy by adding five new low-emission Prinoth Bison groomers and one new low-emission Prinoth Bison winch cat. With these additions to the fleet, Heavenly maintains its claim to the largest fleet of Prinoth groomers in North America.

Heavenly is expanding snowmaking to include Stagecoach Run from top to bottom. Over eight acres of terrain will be covered, enhancing early- and late-season skiing coverage of popular intermediate-to-advanced terrain. Heavenly has also purchased 11 Snow Machines, Inc. fully-automated snowmaking fan guns. These machines will be placed on elevated towers in strategically-selected locations to provide a more consistent, quality snow coverage. Additionally, Heavenly has retrofitted many of its air/water snowmaking guns to be more energy efficient while also making larger quantities of higher quality snow. The combination of grooming expertise and snowmaking capacity ensure that Heavenly’s guests are always skiing or riding on the finest snow surface conditions Lake Tahoe has to offer.

The California Lodge rental shop is undergoing a remodel and expansion, creating a more efficient rental process so more time can be spent on the slopes. Also new this year is an

unlimited yearly ski and snowboard rental program through Rentskis.com and Specialty Sports Venture that rewards frequent renters and diminishes the need to bring gear to the resort, eliminating airline baggage costs. For $359 skiers and riders can purchase an unlimited number of days of Sport or Performance rental equipment (skis/boards, boots and poles if desired) for the 2008-09 season; the Unlimited Demo Rental Pass is available for $459 and the Junior Rental Pass for children 13 and under is $199. Rental equipment can be picked up at any Heavenly Sports location and rental passes can be purchased on-line in conjunction with Heavenly season passes at heavenlypass.com. Gear can be reserved online at Rentskis.com and can be kept for seven-day durations.

The 2008-09 Heavenly season passes have received a high-tech upgrade this season with the addition of Radio Frequency (RF) technology. A small computer chip called an RF “tag” will be embedded into all resort passes sending a radio signal to new handheld scanners. Guests will still interact with lift employees who will verify pass photos and information; however, the “easy scan” pass will not have to be presented to the scanner for it is detectable through many layers of clothing.

The Ski and Ride Schools of Heavenly will introduce a variety of new lesson options for the 2008-09 winter season. Mini South Shore Soldier Camps – based on the world-famous South Shore Soldiers Snowboard and Freeskiing Camps – will be offered monthly throughout the winter, focusing on progressive park riding and safety. These mini-camps will be taught by South Shore Soldiers-approved instructors and will be designed for varying levels of skiers and riders. Gunbarrel 25 Mogul Camps will be offered to improve mogul skiing and style and to prepare competitors for this year’s Gunbarrel 25 event to be held on April 5, 2009. Also, the Women’s Clinics will be revamped to attract women who are interested in top-level ski and snowboard instruction in the company of other women. For more information on any of these programs, visit skiheavenly.com/schools_clinics/adults. The ski school will debut a new magic carpet in the California learning area making learning to ski and snowboard that much easier. It will also provide first and second-time learners more frequency with less fatigue.

In Food & Beverage, Heavenly will expand the Appetite for Life healthy food initiative this season by eliminating trans fats in the cooking oils at all its on-mountain dining establishments. Appetite for Life debuted last season offering Coleman hormone-free beef and poultry, as well as Horizon dairy products at all on-mountain eateries.

“At $369, the Heavenly pass is a phenomenal deal for Lake Tahoe’s top resort,” said John Wagnon, Heavenly vice president of Marketing and Sales. “Combining that price with all our improvements and the instant $25 savings makes it a virtual steal and a great way to start the ski or ride season, which will be here sooner than we think.”

Those purchasing a Heavenly pass also receive unlimited half-price tickets at any of Vail’s Colorado resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. Skyline Trail from the top of Sky Express leading to Nevada has been re-graded allowing for a faster and easier traverse. East Peak Lodge’s upper deck has been enclosed adding 90 – 100 more indoor seats. Three new gladed trails have been added, two in Ski Ways glades and one in Powderbowl Woods. On the side of transportation, two new bio-diesel buses and two new compressed natural gas buses have been added to the Heavenly fleet; bringing the total to 10 environmentally friendly buses.

Recently named a “World Saver” by Condé Nast Traveler in the category of leadership in environmental protection, Vail Resorts is committed to providing an exceptional experience while acting as a leader in energy conservation. Heavenly is ranked among OnTheSnow.com’s top ten “no-car needed” resorts and therefore an outstanding choice for those who wish to conserve gas and support the environmental movement.

With just a little over eight weeks remaining before Heavenly starts making snow in preparation for the coming season, skiers and riders can save money on the winter gear and apparel they need, as well as a Heavenly pass, at Labor Day Sales across Northern California. In South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Sports will be hosting the 22nd Annual Labor Day Tent Sale at Heavenly’s

“The Heavenly Flyer is the latest in a consistent string of improvements we’ve made to the resort, giving us a year-round attraction that is unique at Lake Tahoe,” said Blaise Carrig, Heavenly’s chief operating officer. “We think this is the most spectacular and scenic adventure ride in the world.”

Winter hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., seven days a week, weather permitting. Summer hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rides are $30 ($20 for pass holders who present an active Heavenly season pass) and can be purchased at the Gondola ticket window or at the Adventure Peak kiosk located at the top of the Gondola. Lift tickets and sightseeing tickets are sold separately and are required to gain access to the ride. There are a limited number of rides every day and are scheduled by appointment only. Next-day advanced ticket sales are available
for a $10 premium to ensure a spot is available. Riders must be at least 52 inches tall and weigh over 75 pounds, and cannot exceed 80 inches tall or 275 pounds.

During the winter months the Heavenly Flyer will be offered at Adventure Peak with other activities including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, sledding and snowbiking. In the summer, the Heavenly Flyer can be enjoyed with a 25-foot multi-ability climbing wall and hiking trails.

Resort’s Ability to Cover 70 Percent of its Trails in Machine-Made Snow Gives Early-Season Certainty to Skiers and Riders Heavenly Mountain Resort, Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev. – November 20, 2007 – Heavenly Mountain Resort announced today that it began making snow last night – the Lake Tahoe snowsports season is just days away if temperatures continue to cooperate. The West Coast’s largest snowmaking system can cover 70 percent of Heavenly’s trails in machine made snow, giving the resort’s patrons confidence that they will be skiing and riding on the best snow surfaces in Tahoe on Heavenly’s opening day, scheduled for Friday, November 23.

Under optimum conditions, Heavenly can produce three-and-a-half feet of snow over one acre in an hour. That’s enough snow to blanket a football field with eight-and-a-half feet during an average three-hour game.

“It’s comforting to know that when it’s cold, we have snow,” said John Wagnon, Heavenly’s vice president of marketing and sales. “Our guests can be confident that come opening day they’ll be skiing and riding on the best and most consistent snow surface at Lake Tahoe.”

With cold temperatures finally upon us, Heavenly officials felt it was time to give Mother Nature a helping hand by laying down a base of snow for the winter. For this season Heavenly’s added eleven new automated fan guns to its already impressive snowmaking system.

“Snowmaking is really all about putting down a solid product skiers and riders can depend on from the get-go,” said Jim Larmore, Heavenly’s director of snow surfaces. “This system is so efficient; it packs more punch than all the other snowmaking systems in the Tahoe basin combined.”

Heavenly has begun making snow at the top of the Gondola, on Orion and upper Comet, its two signature runs on the Nevada side.

For information on booking a snowsports vacation package or purchasing a Heavenly season pass, or to monitor the snowmaking process via Heavenly’s web cams, visit www.skiheavenly.com.

South Lake Tahoe, CA/NV—Oct. 10, 2007—Heavenly Mountain Resort announced today it will be satisfying its guests Appetite For Life by serving natural, hormone-free meats and poultry and organic dairy products in its seven on-mountain restaurants beginning the 2007-2008 ski season. As part the Good Food on a Grand Scale initiative under parent company Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN), Heavenly, along with Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone, will serve more meals made with natural meats and certified organic dairy products each year than any other restaurant operator in North America, and the effort will be the largest undertaking to offer these products in the travel industry. To accomplish this unprecedented effort, Vail Resorts has created the Good Food Partnership with Coleman Natural Foods LLC and WhiteWave Foods Company, maker of Horizon Organic® dairy products and Silk® soymilk products.

“At Vail Resorts, our mission is Extraordinary Resorts, Exceptional Experiences. A key piece of the experience we provide our guests is the food we serve. Our decision to launch Good Food on a Grand Scale is about the investment we are making in our guests, particularly kids, to ensure that we are doing our part to make our dining experience as healthy, clean and natural as the activities that happen every day on our mountains,” said Rob Katz, chief executive officer of Vail Resorts. “We admire the brand promises of both Coleman Natural and WhiteWave Foods and are proud to now make those same promises to our guests.”

“The organic food initiative is especially exciting for Heavenly because a large number of our guests are environmentally-aware and health-conscious,” said Blaise Carrig, Heavenly’s chief operating -more- officer. “The addition of these quality, organic products will bring Heavenly’s food quality to the next level and set the bar for the mountain resort food experience. Heavenly will be the only resort at Lake Tahoe to extend this level of healthy options to our guests.”

Next summer, Heavenly will begin construction of the Powderbowl Lodge, a 1,000-seat, indoor/outdoor restaurant that will blend natural meats and organic dairy with locally-procured produce to serve different varieties of California cuisine.

Guests of Heavenly will see the Good Food Partnership promise expressed as Appetite For Life through informative signage and special events. For more information, visit www.vailresorts.com/appetiteforlife.

Heavenly serves roughly 400,000 lunches each ski season at its seven on-mountain restaurants; primarily to families and active, health-conscious guests of all ages. The organic dairy products and natural meats procured through the Good Food Partnership will be used to prepare meals in Vail Resorts’ on-mountain kitchens by resort chefs.

While approximately 90 percent of its fresh meats will be purchased from Coleman Natural and 87 percent of its fresh dairy needs will be organic for the 2007-2008 season, the sheer size and unprecedented nature of this effort prevented the Company from sourcing certain items in sufficient quantities, such as eggs and ice cream. The Company indicated that it will work closely with all of its vendors to increase the amount of natural and organic foods offered for the 2008-2009 season and beyond.

Vail Resorts’ commitment to offering its guests high-quality, sustainable foods includes all-natural beef, poultry, lamb, pork and deli meats supplied by Coleman Natural Foods. Coleman® Natural meats are free from antibiotics, added hormones, artificial ingredients and preservatives and Coleman Natural ranchers pledge humane and sustainable raising practices.

WhiteWave Foods, a subsidiary of Dean Foods Company, will supply Horizon Organic dairy products. Horizon Organic is the nation’s leading brand of U.S.D.A certified organic milk with more than 80 products produced without the use of antibiotics, added growth hormones or pesticides. Through its partnership with WhiteWave, Vail Resorts will prepare meals at on-mountain dining locations during the ski season using organic dairy products such as butter, cheese, milk and yogurt. Additionally, WhiteWave Foods will supply Vail Resorts with Silk soymilk single serve products to make available in the resort food courts. Silk soymilk is the best-selling soymilk brand in the country.

South Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev. – With its recently-approved Master Plan Amendment in hand, Heavenly Mountain Resort today announced its resort improvements for the 2007-08 season – the opening salvo in what is expected to be 10 years of continual resort improvements. Guests can look forward to a steady stream of new lifts, on-mountain restaurants, lodging and base villages that will greatly improve the overall experience at Lake Tahoe’s leading destination resort.

“The improvements outlined under the Master Plan will solidify Heavenly’s position as the premier snowsports destination at Lake Tahoe,” said Blaise Carrig, Heavenly’s chief operating officer. “We’re extremely excited about the next 10 years, as well as this winter, with the opening of Olympic Express and the Heavenly Sky Flyer zip line.”

The new Olympic Express detachable-quad chairlift provides high-speed access to Olympic Downhill, three new trails and Nevada Woods – home to some of the best tree skiing in North America – letting guests more easily experience a part of the mountain that has been underutilized due to the existing fixed-grip lift. Olympic Express also gives guests accessing the resort from Heavenly’s Stagecoach or Boulder Lodge a quicker route to Dipper Express, Comet Express and East Peak Lodge.

When complete for its anticipated December 7, 2007 opening, Olympic Express will be 3,533 feet long with an 866-foot vertical rise. The high-speed lift will move 1,000 feet per minute with a 2,400 person capacity per hour. The former two-person Olympic chair ride took approximately 11 minutes, compared to just three-and-a-half minutes for the new Olympic Express, enabling more ski time and less time spent on a slow-moving chair.

Heavenly will also unveil three new trails off of Olympic Express. Cloud Nine is an intermediatelevel groomed trail that is perfect for wide-open cruising. Heavenly strategically thinned the trees on the other two trails to offer different levels of tree-skiing experiences. The Pines is a groomed, intermediate-level trail that allows skiers and riders to cruise around islands of beautiful western white pines. Bohemian Grove ratchets up the intensity one level. This advanced, gladed run is steeper, ungroomed and offers a more natural tree-skiing feel. For the expert skier or rider Nevada Woods is the all-natural, full-tilt tree skiing that made this area a local legend.

A fourth trail, called Nova, is an intermediate-level trail that will run along the Dipper Express chair line to connect Orion to the base of Dipper Express, bypassing the bottom of Orion and the guests heading to Comet Express and East Peak Lodge. The four new trails give Heavenly a total of 95 runs.

Also new this winter will be the Heavenly Sky Flyer at Adventure Peak. This elevated zip line cable ride will take guests on a 50-mile-an-hour thrill ride from the top of Tamarack Express back to the top of the Gondola, a vertical drop of 525 feet. At 3,100 feet, the Heavenly Sky Flyer will be the longest zip line in the lower 48 U.S. states.

For those who prefer their thrill rides on the trails rather than above them, Heavenly has continued its commitment to offering Lake Tahoe’s finest corduroy with four new low-emission Prinoth 350 groomers and one new, state-of-the-art PistenBully 600 ultra-low-emission snow groomer. Numbering 16, Heavenly maintains its claim to the largest fleet of Prinoth 350s in North America.

Heavenly has also purchased 11 more Snow Machines, Inc. fully-automated fan guns. These fan guns will be placed on elevated towers in strategically-selected locations to provide a more consistent, quality snow coverage. Additionally, Heavenly has retrofitted many of its air/water snowmaking guns to be more energy efficient while also making larger quantities of snow in warmer temperatures. The combination of grooming expertise and snowmaking capacity ensure that Heavenly’s guests are always skiing or riding on the finest snow surface conditions Lake
Tahoe has to offer.

Off the mountain, Lake Tahoe Development Company recently broke ground on the Chateau at Heavenly Village. The 11.53-acre redevelopment will include two luxury condo-hotels, a 16,000-square-foot RockResorts Spa, 50,000-square-foot convention center with 21,000 square-foot pre-function area, 1.5 acre park and a collection of shops and restaurants. The Chateau at Heavenly Village is located at the California state line across from Heavenly Village and the Heavenly Gondola, adjacent to Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Casino & Resort. The Chateau will be completed in winter 2009 and will be operated by Vail Resorts subsidiary, RockResorts.

Other future projects approved under Phase One of the Master Plan that guests can look forward to include: Replacement of another existing fixed-grip chair lift on the mountain’s Nevada side with high-speed, detachable lift technology; a 1,000-seat on-mountain restaurant with incredible views of Lake Tahoe called Powderbowl Lodge; 152 acres of new ski trails; regrading Skyline Trail (the infamous traverse from California to Nevada); and a skier bridge that will allow skiers and riders to ski from the Gondola top station to Tamarack Express. The plan also calls for multi-use hiking/cross-country skiing/snowshoeing trails in the area between the Gondola top station and the Observation Deck.

Every project contained in the Master Plan Amendment was designed to minimize environmental impact and maximize water clarity from the watersheds draining Heavenly. The plan also contains the most comprehensive environmental mitigation and monitoring program in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

“With this Master Plan, Heavenly has become a leader among ski resorts in terms of environmental stewardship,” said Rochelle Nason, executive director of the League to Save Lake Tahoe. “The resort worked closely with conservationists to assure their plan will result in greater protection for Lake Tahoe’s water quality, and their decision to spare the North Bowl trees is tremendous. Heavenly is a terrific destination for skiers and riders who want to help ‘Keep Tahoe Blue’.”

The results of Heavenly’s past environmental programs are positive: watershed condition and water quality in each of the watersheds draining Heavenly have been improved through a systematic restoration and re-vegetation program. At the Boulder and California Main Lodge base areas, state-of-the-art water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs) have been installed to further reduce pollutants. Nearly 30 acres of disturbed stream environment zones have been restored. Since 2003, Heavenly has been attaining its Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) targets for suspended sediment in Heavenly Valley Creek. This is the first use of the TMDL in the Tahoe Basin, and is seen as the future for watershed management at Lake Tahoe.
