08-09 Grenade The Boned Age Review
0The cinematography, soundtrack, plot, and rider parts (each are strong), make the Boned Age unique, worth the watch over and over again, and one of the most fun movies of this season.
The Boned Age is hilarious and Danny Kass and Scotty Lago had me in fits of laughter on an airplane while I watched it on my laptop. Of course there was a discrete audience of people around me obviously watching as well, but pretending they weren’t. I didn’t know my seatmate, but by the time we were to the extras (do NOT miss the sucker fishing in Aspen or Scotty hunting many of God’s creatures- that kid has a weird obsession with animal chasing), the thorough entertainment of it all had us chatting about the industry and snowsports.
The Grenade video this year has a mini-plot feel that is similar to Super Bad. The comedy meshes really well with the actual snowboard sections. That said, the comedy is not a cover up for lame snowboard parts. The whole movie is tight. Huge props to each of the riders for their acting (and dancing) talents so greatly combined with the riding. One of the coolest things is the huge eyeball painted on the tranny of a super kicker, and Scotty/ Danny in the pipe riding together is crazy.

Grenade Games 4 Return to June Mountain
0A way out west there is a group of Radical Dudes, people called them the Grenade Crew. About every time this year, usually around the end of April they get together and have a little Shindig called the “Grenade Games”. Reckon it’s been about three years going on four they’ve been doing this. Usually moving place to place, this year I heard they’re bringing her back to her birthplace at June Mountain, California. Given’er 2 days of fun celebrating snowboarding in the sun. That starts Saturday, April 19th and continues on through Sunday, April 20th for those of you interested in that sort of thing. It’s gonna be bout $30.00 bucks to get you on hill or $50.00 for both days. (more…)
04-05 Grenade Revenge of the Grenerds Review
0AWESOME and goofy, watch it you’ll love it!!
Thankfully it doesn’t really involve math, but Revenge of the Grenerds was definitely calculated in creativity, filming, humor and show of rider skill. Oh, and there are some bloody wrecks. The Greande crew is a really talented group that obviously had fun coming up with some of the skits, which are some of the funniest ones ever, the geek-band performance in the middle being the best. Unlike some videos, the skits completely add to it and don’t just suck. They’re stupid, but you won’t want to fast-forward. The music is awesome- nuff said. And, there are breaks from the theme that are set in the backcountry and are absolutely captivating and more relaxed. To the Grenerds, wouldn’t want you to have to cry over getting a “B” so good thing you get a big fat A. It’s definitely in the top three videos of the year, and high on my overall list.
