After the big snowboard unveiling party last year, DC kept things pretty low key this year, but that doesn’t mean they brought a week showing to SIA. DC’s attention to style and integration between their various product lines really paid off this year with some great gear, from boards to boots to outerwear. The Mountain Lab line is an extraordinary collection, deserving particular mention for how clean it looks; also of note is that the boards come with a sticker pack so you can populate the Lab however you want. Dc’s “movers And Shakers” Grow $30,181 For Movember

Dec. 17, 2008—VISTA, CA— For the second consecutive year, DC’s “MOvers and Shakers” were the number one Movember USA Team with a total of $30,181.71 raised for the nonprofit Movember. Besides being the number one team, DC’s involvement expanded this year with numerous contests, a sandal, and participation from DC’s team riders.

To help support the cause, DC created “The DC Challenge” for the top four-man team to raise the most money for Movember. The giveaway offered an all expenses paid five-day trip to Park City, Utah, including a day of snowboarding at DC’s private MTN.LAB. Congratulations to The DC Challenge winning team – Haley’s M-O who raised $10,320 for Movember and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of America. (more…)

DC Team Rider Chas Guldemond On “The Standard Snowboard Show”

Vista, CA…DC snowboarder Chas Guldemond will appear on the “The Standard Snowboard Show” airing Tuesday, December 16th on FUEL TV at 8:00pm ET and 11:00pm ET (5:00pm PT and 8:00pm PT). This fifth season episode will be filled with tons of freestyle footage of Chas as he sessions parks across Tahoe’s North Shore.

Known for his contest prowess, Chas currently leads the Swatch TTR standings following a third place overall finish at the Nissan X-Trail jam in Tokyo, December 12, 2008. With a back-to-back contest schedule, Chas will compete on the Dew Tour, then in slopestyle at the Winter X Games 2009. When he’s not competing, New Hampshire native resides in Truckee, calling Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort his local mountain. (more…)

I first met Kimmy at the DC snowboards unveiling in the Playboy suite at the Palms casino during SIA 2008. A fairly new name to the girls snowboard world, last year she filmed with Runway, made the DC snowboard team, and held it down with the boys at Superpark. Quiksilver, Inc. Completes Sale of Rossignol

Huntington Beach, California, November 13, 2008 — Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE:ZQK) today announced that it had closed the sale of the “Rossignol Group” to Chartreuse & Mont Blanc. The transaction resulted from Quiksilver’s initiative, announced in January 2008, to sell Rossignol in order to reduce its exposure to the winter sports equipment manufacturing business. The sale, which was effective as of November 12, 2008, carried a transaction value of €40 million, comprised of €30 million in cash and a €10 million Seller’s Note. Net proceeds will be used to reduce indebtedness. (more…)

Vista, CA – October 6, 2008 – For the second consecutive year DC is proud to support Movember, an annual charity ‘mo’-vement committed to changing the way men think about, discuss and treat their own health issues by generating awareness and raising money for men’s health.

Movember challenges men (Mo Bros) to grow a Mo (Aussie slang for moustache) for one month only, November, as a symbol in support of fighting men’s health issues and celebrating the Mo. At the start of November guys register with a clean-shaven face and have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache, while raising money for men’s health and the fight against prostate cancer.
