1Sunday, Nov 15. Took the day to play at Copper. Absolutely gorgeous partly cloudy day, sun breaking through the clouds made for some really cool lighting. Snow was brutal – super patchy ice and soft, so you never know when your edge is going to hold. Park setup is still fun though. (more…)

0Copper Mountain, CO…August 28, 2009…Woodward at Copper offers weekly Fall classes for both kids and adults designed to help participants learn skills in specific areas, such as trampolines, tumbling, Snowflex, and skateboarding from Sept. 8 – Nov. 2. Sports Syndicate Rider Louie Vito Wins USSA Snowboard Grand Prix
1Newport Beach, Calif. Dec 15, 2008- Reigning overall champion Louie Vito (Sandy, UT) had the top two runs of the day to easily take the win in the Men’s Grand Prix halfpipe competition at the USSA Chevy Grand Prix, Dec. 12 – 13. The world’s Top snowboarders competed in the quest for the title of overall winner during the kickoff to America’s largest competitive snowboarding tour – the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and Paul Mitchell Progression Session at Copper Mountain, CO.
Vito landed two runs of back-to-back 1080′s, back-to-back 900′s and a straight air, but it was his amplitude in the second run that got him the top men’s spot.
“It is great to see Louie start the season with such a strong win. He is really focused this season and it’s sweet to see him step up and get this win after his article in last Wednesday’s USA Today,” said Todd Hahn, Vice President at McClellan Nichols Sports Syndicate LLC. (more…)
Steamboat local Maddy Schaffrick takes 4th place in her first US Grand Prix
0COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — The rider list for the first women’s heat of the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix read like a who’s-who of female riders: Kelly Clark, Gretchen Bleiler, Hannah Teter and … Madeline Schaffrick?
OK, so Schaffrick may not exactly be on that level right now, but the 14-year-old Steamboat Springs native showed Thursday morning at Copper Mountain that she’s well on her way.

Copper Mountain Gains Approval For Village Development
0COPPER MOUNTAIN, COLO., September 2, 2008 – Copper Mountain is pleased to announce the resort has received approval from Summit Countyofficials to move forward with the next stage of village and base area development. Included in the re-zoning application are 590 units of residential and hotel density, employee and affordable housing, improved parking, transportation and pedestrian flow, perpetual funding for community programs, wetlands and open space creation and construction of a recreation path throughout the resort base area.
