03-04 Arnette Jet Wing Review

The helmet is not a multi-impact helmet, and with so many new multi-impacts coming in the low $100s, I think the Jet Wing is overpriced. If you can find a good deal on it though, it is a well performing helmet.

Arnette’s Jet Wing helmet isn’t anything spectacular or new, but it is definitely a solid helmet that will protect your head. It is vented, but the vents aren’t huge; it is better suited to colder days and freeriding than it is for pipe hiking. However, it isn’t so insulated that you’re going to find yourself overheating. The helmet has clean, smooth lines, and looks pretty stylish. The paint on the helmet is pretty scratch and ding resistant; it took some pretty hard intentional hits against metal to get any marks at all. It isn’t as light as some helmets I’ve tested, but it also isn’t super heavy; I’m not going to award or dock extra points for the weight.

I do like the helmet’s fit. The ear flaps are well done, and I really like the way that they hug your ears. The majority of the ear padding fits around your ears to keep wind out, and the material directly over your ears is a thinner, wind-resistant material. The result is that it keeps your ears warm while still allowing you to hear pretty well. The flaps are removable, so you can pop them out if you are getting warm.

01-02 Arnette Blend Review

If you are looking for a mid-range goggle, these Arnettes would be a great choice.

The Blend goggle is among Arnette’s upper-end snowboard goggles. In my opinion it is also one of the best looking goggles that Arnette makes. It has a much rounder and larger frame than the Ruler. Very comfortable foam lines the inside of these goggles, and protects your eyes from outside debris. The lens optics are great, little to no distortion under normal circumstances. They are flexible, so you don’t have to worry about cracking the lenses or frames every time you take a fall. As with most goggles you can pop the lens out and replace them quite easily, and I found the Blends a little easier than most to change.

01-02 Arnette Ruler Review

These are a good multi-purpose goggle with a somewhat affordable price tag.

First off, the Ruler model is not intended to be a top-of-the-line goggle, and so I don’t want to review it from that aspect. It is, however, a pretty good goggle at a more reasonable price. What strikes me most about the Arnette Ruler goggles is their style. They have a very unique, boxy look. They are not gender specific; they fit me in such a way that I can tell they would fit someone with a bigger or a smaller face. There are a lot of great colors to choose from. They have a really thick, soft layer of foam and are really good in wind. Because of their boxy shape, they work well with a helmet and I did not notice any discomfort. Even after wearing them for an extended period of time I found no major pressure points or irritation.
