Review:
All Day Every Day was my most anticipated film of the year; after Sandbox Films set the bar so high with last year's standout film Time Well Wasted, I really couldn't wait to get my hands on this year's release. Of course Kevin Sansalone and crew didn't disappoint, and All Day Every Day continues the progression of Sandbox Films, highlighting some amazing talent in BC and beyond.
The riding is all spot on; but I have to mention that Andrew Geeves absolutely kills it throughout his section, and of course Andrew Hardingham keeps it goofy while nailing some crazy lines. Mikey Pederson and Brendan Keenan both ooze style through some epic BC backcountry shots, and Geoff Brown throws down Canada style. The entire Spain section is also very well done and absolutely gorgeous.
The editing and cinematography really help All Day Every Day stand out from the pack, with beautiful hi-def shots, colorful scenes, stunning backdrops, and all around effective imagery. The intro is just as creative as last year, but a little more visually catching; great fun to watch. The soundtrack is well chosen and mixed to the riding, and keeps a perfect pacing through the film.
Tons of extras, including "sandbox+plus" mode where you interact with the DVD to see additional bonus shot, and don't miss "Arbitrarily Pear"
I love the personality of Sandbox Films productions. After Time Well Wasted so impressed me last year, they did it again this year!
Review:
For the past two years Sandbox Films' intros have absolutely blown everything else out of the water. Starting with the “Time Well Wasted” creative rendition of getting ready to go snowboarding, and this year’s business-time glow-show, they kill it! These intros have led into movies that will leave you feeling stoked on riding. After the All Day Every Day intro comes a wide variety of music combined with backcountry, park riding, huge booters, and urban jibbing.
There are several parts to note, including Ryan Hall’s, which I just liked, and Geoff Brown’s mirrored style rail session. It is hard to explain, but this session is two different shots, one each on rails that are next to each other, that are put together, making it so he is hitting both rails at once. I also liked Cory Gallon’s part, and Ryan Tiene’s is one of my favorites. Ryan’s section is beautifully done and the sunset shots and cinematography are excellent. Spain is another moment in time that is captured in a playful way. I love the “Spain in 30 seconds” extra. One of my favorite shots of the entire movie is the four guys riding at once through some village’s little back alleyways and snowy rooftops.
And, last but not least, I couldn’t watch a Sandbox movie without mention of Andrew Hardingham. Whatever goes on in that kid’s head, combined with snowboarding, always makes for some sort of dark, satirical, and much anticipated rider part. This year does not fail that expectation. Do not miss the Rude Boys extra with his commentary on MSG-flavored lines (you’ll get it when you see it).
All of the extras are exceptional. Also not to miss are the Arbitrarily Pear and Slime Wall extras. You can also chose the Sandbox and plus bonus feature that plays the movie but with extra footage you can tap into.
