Summary:
This is a multi-use, warm and moisture-wicking underlayer.
Review:
This baselayer is the warmest, least bulky shirt I've ever had. The microfibers are lightweight and not itchy. I have a medium in the "mid-spicy" warmth. It's a medium woven gray with a black zip collar and the zipper is a chili pepper. The collar isn't high enough to bother my neck or chin (that annoys me when I'm riding). I also wore this layer while snowshoeing up in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. It kept me warm and comfortable, and allows you a lot of freedom for movement. It's 62% Macro Active Acrylic and 38% Micro Polyester. The shirt keeps me dry even when I'm sweating; it absorbs moisture and odor, it's anti-static and anti-pilling. I'll be wearing this in the Arizona mountains when I climb in the winter and when I backpack Colorado in the summers, ooh, I'll be backpacking in Canada this summer, too... I'm excited.

Summary:
The Micro Active Shirt is a good first layer which can then be followed with a thicker Hot Chillys layer. Different combos may be used, depending on the need.
Review:
A great mid-weight layer, this Micro Active shirt has heat-generating fibers that will help keep you warm in any situation. I found this to be a multi-purpose shirt. It works really well as a general under layer (shirt under a sweatshirt type deal). I also found that when it is really cold, doubling up on Hot Chillys gear takes care of the problem.
