Summary:
Everything functions as it should, it looks good, and it has a reasonable price tag.
Review:
The Axon, part of K2's Backcountry Systems line, is the king of this year's multi-purpose snowboard backpacks. Large enough for expeditions, and small enough for quick hikes, the Axon has all of the features you need for either. There are plenty of straps and tie-downs so you can carry many different accessories, from a board to an ice-axe or shovel. The shoulder straps are well padded, and there is a small cargo pocket on both the left and right waist straps. The top of the bag has a clamshell-like pouch with a waterproof zipper designed for a music player, goggles, or camera, or anything else you might be carrying that should be protected from shock or water, and that you want easy access to. In addition to mountain hiking, I've traveled with it and used it as a school pack, and I do not have a single complaint.
