Summary:
Overall, the Convert Vortex Satellite Parka is an impressive jacket that allows you to perform and look good doing it.
Review:
Being a little skeptical at first of the Convert line, any preconceptions that I had before trying this jacket on quickly vanished after I rode with it. The fact is that the Vortex Satellite Parka is dope, pure and simple. For the money, it has all the features found in comparably priced, big name jackets.
Features like articulated elbows for a really natural fit, an internal music pocket big enough for those near VCR sized CD players, pit zip vents for well, ventilation, removable hood with goggle cinches, powder skirt for the good days, five pockets plus goggle pocket, Velcro cuff cinches, and others.
The one thing that I think could be better is the waterproof rating. At only 5,000mm, it offers a little protection from moisture but would obviously be much better with a higher rating. Although it has a low waterproof rating, the jacket does feature critically taped seams for added protection from the elements.
