On its own it may not be warm enough, but it works well in combination with other tops.

Though marketed as a mid-weight layer, I would describe this piece as a high-performance lightweight shirt. My favorite way to rock this waffle top is under a t-shirt with a sweater or jacket on top. I like it as a first layer because it is soft, wicks moisture and does not retain odor. But in terms of warmth on an average winter’s day, I found myself needing more than just this shirt underneath a sweatshirt and shell. It compliments my normal get-up when I need extra layers because it fits under other shirts well.
