06-07 Dakine Girl’s Mission Review
At $60 I would recommend this pack as a great multi-purpose pack, for snowboarding, school or whatever else, it will have a long life and you will enjoy it’s use in lot of activities.
The Mission is an extremely comfortable and functional female-specific pack. Made from tough rip-stop nylon with features for snowboarding, such as shovel and snowboard carrying straps, it also works well as a day-pack or book bag. I would describe it as “backpack” size, it is not overly large, but the use of space is efficient. The extra-padded camera pocket, located at the top and accessed through the back, is designed to fit a small video camera or regular digital camera but also compacts to fit a point and shoot. It is my favorite feature.
Of the two main compartments, the front has an inner set of pockets that hold pens, a cell phone, an iPod and other miscellaneous things. I found that the cell phone pocket is too narrow for my Razor, even though it is made out of neoprene and is somewhat stretchy. My phone fits better in the iPod pocket. This would be my only suggestion for change.
On the sides you will find additional pockets: one will hold a big water bottle, one is lined with fleece to hold a pair of sunglasses, and the other is for random stuff.
I must mention the padded shoulder straps and backing on this pack. It fits really well and has plenty of straps to hang things off of, if you haven’t already stashed them elsewhere.
