No Boundaries or KNOW Boundaries?

The North Face has launched a new snow and avalanche safety campaign called KNOW Boundaries. KNOW Boundaries includes a 14 city tour with athletes like snowboarder Lucas Debari and mountaineer Conrad Anker to provide clinics at The North Face and REI stores around the country, with the goal of teaching snowsports enthusiasts knowledge, skills and training required for safe backcountry travel.
“Over the years, we’ve seen that backcountry exploration in the winter months has grown in popularity, and when you’re exploring new zones, having the right gear is essential. But understanding how far you can push the limits can mean the difference between coming home safely or not,” said Aaron Carpenter, vice president of marketing for The North Face. “Our mission is to provide insight on how to stay safe when heading off the beaten path and into the backcountry.”

New 686 video goes behind the scenes

686 dropped a new video today called “The Process,” taking viewers behind the scenes to show how their outerwear is made. The video follows the production, starting from rolls of material and ending with boxed products ready to ship. Seeing as most riders will never actually visit an apparel manufacturing warehouse, this is a pretty cool opportunity to see the inner workings of the gear you rock every time you hit the snow.

2012 Sandbox helmets promo video

I rocked a Sandbox lid for a good bit of last season, and SBG just received a couple of the new ones straight from Sandbox for testing. They’re great, colorful helmets; comfortable to wear, and just different enough to stand out.

Drop a quarter in the Gnarcade
0While many of you were out enjoying the Colorado opening weekend, we’re up in Alaska, where there’s absolutely no snow right now. Digging through bookmarks of cool snow links this weekend, I rediscovered this gem of a video. Courtesy of Knife Show, creators of snowboard web hits like Gnar Wars, Magic Flashlights, and Snow Clones, this one pays homage to classic video games like Space Invaders, Super Mario Brothers, and Frogger, and then throws in some awesome Portal tricks as well.
