Wintergreen Brews Up Signature Lager For Guests This Season
0WINTERGREEN, Va.; December 22, 2008 — Snow sports enthusiasts can replenish their spirits this season with Wintergreen Resort’s new signature craft beer, Wintergreen Hibernator, created specially for Wintergreen guests by the region’s premiere artisan brewery, Blue Mountain Brewery.
Originally brewed by monks in Bavaria to help sustain them through the Lenten fast, Hibernator is a German-style Doppelbock (German for “double strong”). Wintergreen Hibernator is being served at various Wintergreen Resort beverage locations, including the Copper Mine Restaurant, The Edge lounge and the Stoney Creek Bar & Grill at Stoney Creek Golf Club (playable year-round). Big Snow = Big Terrain Openings
0We’ve received nearly two feet of snow in the past week (it’s still snowing) and we’re opening a lot more terrain in the next couple of days! By early next week, we will have 90 percent of our lifts open. The forecast calls for storms on Friday, Monday and through Christmas Day!!

Intense Sierra Storm Drops 3 Feet On Squaw Valley USA
0[Squaw Valley USA] December 15, 2008- A strong cold North Pacific winter storm continues to fall today, accumulating at a rate of 1 inch per hour, with snow fall totals ranging between 22 and 36 inches at Squaw Valley USA. A winter storm warning is in effect for the Tahoe Basin and the National Weather Service is calling for another 18-30 inches by 10 pm tonight. Continued snow showers are in the forecast through Tuesday of next week (December 23) making for optimal skiing and snowboarding conditions for the holidays. (more…)

Heavenly Hit with Major Snowstorm
0Colorado Expecting Major Storm Tomorrow!
Heavenly, Calif./Nev. – Dec. 15, 2008 – Winter doesn’t officially arrive until Dec. 22, but try telling that to skiers and snowboarders who are enjoying the first powder turns of the season at Heavenly Mountain Resort today. The first major Tahoe-area snowstorm of the season delivered almost a foot-and-a-half to the Heavenly slopes since Friday (10 inches overnight) with another 10-15 inches expected today. (more…)
Diamond Peak Ski Resort Opens December 18, 2008
0Incline Village, NV- Diamond Peak opening day for the 2008-09 season will be Thursday, December 18, 2008. Because Diamond Peak will be opening with three chairs and four trails, there will be a discounted pricing schedule until further notice. Purchase an adult all-day lift ticket for only $29, an Interchangeable Parent Pass for only $29, or bring a season pass from another resort and purchase a lift ticket for only $25! Over Two Feet Of New Snow at Mountain High
0Wrightwood, CA – December 15, 2008- More than two feet of new snow has fallen at Mountain High and that number is expected to rise as snow showers blanket the region. The West Resort is now 100% open offering 31 trails and a good mixture of beginner to advanced terrain. The East Resort will make its seasonal debut later this week and resort operators are currently evaluating the North Resort for a possible weekend-opening as well. (more…)
