October 2nd, 2009, Golden, BC…. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort received it first snowfall this morning in the resort village. With a dusting in the village and close 15 cm of snow at the summit of the mountain, winter is well on its way and long-time locals are saying that all signs are pointing to a banner snow year.

The long term forecast for Kicking Horse is for cooler than normal temperatures and precipitation. Kicking Horse Mountain resort is currently gearing up for the winter season with a planned opening date of December 11th, 2009. An earlier opening day is planned if weather permits.
