Boarding House Mentors (BHM), the non-profit organization that brings the “stoke” of surfing, snowboarding and soon, skateboarding, to at-risk and underserved youth, has chosen specialty retailer PacSun as its annual “Pass The Stoke” award recipient for its outstanding support of the organization. The award will be presented to PacSun’s Director of Action Sports Marketing, Tracy Cioffi and PacSun’s Director of E-Commerce, Stacy Clark at the Action Sports Retailer Trade Show in San Diego this weekend.

“We are thankful for PacSun’s enthusiastic support of our action sports programs for at-risk youth. The company’s sponsorship of our ‘Pass The Stoke’ t-shirt line, a joint venture with O’Neill, has provided us with much-needed funding so that we may continue to operate our youth programs,” shared BHM’s Executive Director Grace Kastenberg.

“PacSun is proud be a part of ‘Pass the Stoke,’ which allowed us to combine our passion for fashion and board sports with a truly deserving cause,” said Cioffi. We are honored to be recognized by Boarding House Mentors with this award and hope that our company’s involvement generates even more support and awareness for the organization.”

More than teaching kids about board sports, BHM, now in its 5th season, creates a unique, safe and healthy community environment where at-risk youth make new friends, encourage each other and learn a new challenging sport. “It’s much more than teaching kids how to surf, it’s about teaching these kids skills to grow as young people who contribute to society in a positive way. Board sports are a vehicle to achieve those goals”, said Chris Black, BHM’s President.
