SBG is in Las Vegas for SIA.09, and will be bringing you live coverage of the show with photos and more throughout the week. You can find all of our SIA.09 coverage right here
After SIA we’ll be headed to Keystone in mid-February to follow up with on-snow testing of the boards and bindings we’re seeing here, and then covering The North Face Masters event in Crested Butte Colorado. Stay tuned!

0Hard to believe it’s 2009 already, and what a year it’s been. Yesterday saw the swearing in of our new President, and hopefully the dawn of a new age. The SIA tradeshow is just around the corner, the final show in Vegas. As usual, we’ll be there bringing you first-hand accounts of next year’s new goodies and partaking in the blow-out festivities. There will be a few minor changes to the site over the next week, one big step will be better incorporating the Photo Vault into the rest of the site, allowing us to post more photos more quickly, especially from events like SIA.

0It’s shred time! There is nothing like those first few turns when you haven’t been on a board for months. Talk about a winter wonderland! We hit the park early this season to re-initiate our legs and haven’t looked back. We’re excited for another season and, in case you haven’t scrolled through the many new reviews that are up (great for holiday shopping ideas!), we do have a lot of new stuff up and reviewed and more is coming. We also are working on additional interviews and articles.
Enough about us, we want to hear from you. The new review engine is live and now you can join us in posting reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) products and resorts. For detailed instructions on how to post reviews, head over here: Review Instructions
From the Editor: September 2008
0Summer is wrapping up and the smell of snow is in the air; or at least it is in Alaska. But regardless of temperatures and snowfall, September brings a wave of energy and excitement to the snowboard industry. While most resorts in the northern hemisphere are still a few months away from opening, and most shops don’t even stock next winters gear until late October, the last few season have seen Loveland and A-Basin opening in early October.
That makes September the ramp-up month, with an onslaught of new videos, magazine coverage of the best of last year, and thousands of dollars in add campaigns to tell you what’s going to be hot this winter. While that’s all fun to drool over, many boarders are left wondering what products will actually work for them; good thing you’ve found SBG, where everyday boarders, just like you, write the reviews.
The new review engine is live and now you can join us in posting reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) products and resorts. For detailed instructions on how to post reviews, head over here: Review Instructions
There will be monthly giveaways all season long, so start submitting those reviews!
From the Editor: March 2008
0Hard to believe the 2007/2008 snow season is winding down already. We’ve been lucky enough to get a few early March powder days in, but the signs of spring are all too clear. If you haven’t started making your summer snowboarding plans yet, hurry up and figure it out, as camps are selling out of space fast.
In case you’ve missed it, the new review engine is live and now you can join us in posting reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) products and resorts. For detailed instructions on how to post reviews, head over here: Review Instructions

From the Editor: February 2008
0SBG is living it up in Vegas at the Snowsport Industries of America (SIA) tradeshow. This year’s show has been another great experience. Some things worth mentioning:
- DC has unveiled their new snowboard line
- Skullcandy personnel presented a check to Boarding for Breast Cancer for over $36,000
- We have been checking out all the up and coming 2008-2009 lines (some of which are really fresh and different while others are somewhat same ‘ol…more on this later)
- SBG has set up several interviews that will be posted on the site within the next few months
Other big news for SBG directly involves Y-O-U, the reader. After numerous delays, the new review engine is live and you can join us in posting reviews of both hard and soft goods on the site. Instructions will be posted soon after we return from Vegas, along with several contests, promotions, and product giveaways.
From the Editor: January 2008
0If December ’07 didn’t bring you enough snow, then January ’08 is sure to promise it. Colorado has been hammered with storms for the past couple of weeks, and resorts have been working hard to finish opening terrain.
After numerous delays, our new review engine is almost ready to go live. As soon as it’s up and running, we’ll start dropping contests and promotions like crazy, so keep an eye on the front page.
The end of January marks the 2008 SIA Tradeshow where we’ll be checking out all of next-year’s hottest gear. Stay tuned for photos and more.

0A four letter word for you. . . S-N-O-W! It’s time. Resorts are opening. Get your stuff ready and make your plans. Use caution when inserting any of this year’s snowboard videos into your DVD player, because you are going to be way pumped up and ready to ride.
In addition to the video reviews that keep rolling in, this month we have added three new interviews that are posted under the Articles section. Snowboarder Guide was able to do a pre-season catch up with Andrew Hardingham, Kevin Sansalone and Andreas Wiig. It is just the beginnging.
