Ski Utah Hosts Annual Fat Flake Festival – A Flurry of Free Pre-Season Fun

Salt Lake City, Utah – Ski Utah will host its annual winter kick-off celebration, the Fat Flake Festival (formerly Snow Jam), Saturday November 3, 2007. The event takes place from 4 – 10 p.m. at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. New to this year’s event will be the Monster (Energy Drink) Rail Jam. The largest rail structure in Salt Lake City history will be built on top of the Gallivan Center ice rink, completely engulfing the skating venue. (more…)

World Snowboard Federation Announces World Rookie Fest 2008

The WSF announces the World Rookie Fests 2008: 3 international events are going to land in Europe in order to promote snowboarding and to give the most talented youngsters outside the “pro system†a chance to shine. We are a community of people who love our winters, and in many cases, it’s how we make our living. So it only makes sense that we unite to do whatever we can to fix the damage that’s being done to the season and lifestyle we love.
Obviously, it’s going to take cooperation on a global scale to address everything from fossil fuel emissions to renewable energy solutions – but if our community harnesses our collective energy and puts forth a focused effort, we can have a direct influence on reversing the damage that’s been done and ensure that winters are here for generations behind us.
