THIRTYTWO’S AMMO PREMIERE BLEW UP
Starting Today, ThirtyTwo.com Will drop One AMMO Part a Week

LAKE FOREST, CA. (Sept. 15, 2011) – Last night, ThirtyTwo’s first full-length AM film, AMMO, premiered at the ThirtyTwo and etnies headquarters in Lake Forest in front of more than 500 fans. With the AMMO stars present, the video premiere party buzzed all night with constant cheers all throughout the screenings of AMMO and Shoot the Moon and into the beer garden, where the free PBR kept on flowing. The premiere party may have ended, but the AMMO celebration continues for everyone with the first AMMO video part dropping online today (Sept.15) on ThirtyTwo.com.

The hundreds of snowboarders and fans in attendance at the AMMO premiere got the chance to watch it with the ThirtyTwo AM riders who shredded and destroyed in the new video, Brandon Hobush, Spencer Schubert, Chris Brewster and Dylan Alito. AMMO was followed up with Videograss’ new video Shoot the Moon, which includes ThirtyTwo riders Chris Grenier, Johnny Miller and Jon Kooley.

Starting today, ThirtyTwo.com will be dropping a video part from AMMO once a week through November 3, but you don’t have to wait until then to see it all. You can either go to your local snowboard shop to buy it today or download it from ThirtyTwo.com for $2.99 on October 1.

It looks like some party goers took it upon themselves to build a PBR pyramid. During the premiere, the attendees enjoyed more than 1,000 free PBRs and 1,000 free tacos from Rasta Tacos.

Stay tuned to ThirtyTwo.com for the latest products and news on the team.

The Wilderness Society unites with skiers and snowboarders to fight climate change

WASHINGTON (September 15, 2011) – The Protect Our Winters coalition of skiers and snowboarders, including two-time Olympic snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, joined The Wilderness Society and other environmental groups to call on Congress and the Administration to help curb climate-change causing carbon emissions that are threatening to put an end to the winter sports industry in the United States.

“Climate change will cost billions in economic damage to America. The costs of not acting could be devastating to a state like Colorado where the outdoor recreation industry adds $10 billion to the state economy every year and supports 107,000 jobs, many of them connected to skiing and snowboarding ,” said David Moulton, Director of Climate Policy for The Wilderness Society. “By bringing their message to Capitol Hill, Gretchen, Jeremy, and Chris are making sure that Congress knows that climate change is endangering one America’s favorite pastimes.”

Rising temperatures and unpredictable winter weather could alter the face of skiing and snowboarding forever, said Moulton. “We don’t want to reach the point they have reached in Europe where desperate attempts are made in the summer to place plastic over glaciers so they are still around to ski on in the winter”

An overwhelming majority of climate scientists have identified unmitigated carbon pollution as the primary culprit.

“We cannot keep letting polluters dump their carbon pollution into the air, leaving American citizens – snowboarders, skiers, and everyone else – to pay the consequences,” said Moulton. “We must put a lid on greenhouse gas pollution, to protect our communities and our winters.”

###

The Wilderness Society is the leading public-lands conservation organization working to protect wilderness and inspire Americans to care for our wild places. Founded in 1935, and now with more than 500,000 members and supporters, TWS has led the effort to permanently protect 110 million acres of wilderness and to ensure sound management of our shared national lands. www.wilderness.org
Tiffany & Co. Produces 2011-12 Gold Pass

NEW YORK, NY (Sept. 13) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today a new multi-platform partnership with luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF). The announcement took place at the Tiffany & Co. flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Olympic and X Games medalists helped unveil a new Tiffany-produced USSA Gold Pass, offering donors skiing or snowboarding at resorts across the USA.

The prestigious Gold Pass – only 400 are produced annually – is the Foundation’s largest annual fundraising program and requires a minimum annual contribution of $10,000. The fully-transferable pass provides unlimited skiing and snowboarding at resorts, as well as invitations to special events. These funds are crucial to athlete development, and assist in offsetting the cost of elite-level training, education, travel and sport science support.

The partnership solidifies the two organizations’ shared reputation for excellence, and will yield a diverse lineup of projects, beginning with producing the USSA’s 2011-12 Gold Pass.

“The USSA and Tiffany & Co. stand for similar expectations in excellence,” said USSA’s Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, Andrew Judelson. You know the quality you’re going to get when you open a Tiffany Blue Box and you can look for that same level of expectation from our athletes. Taking the physical product and collaborating with the best in the business to produce the Gold Pass boosts the overall prestige of the program.”

On site to help reveal the new Gold Pass partnership was Olympic silver medalist, Lindsey Jacobellis, Olympic bronze medalist Andrew Weibrecht, Olympic champion Donna Weinbrecht and five-time X Games medalist Jen Hudak. Athletes mixed and mingled with USSA donors while sporting the new Gold Pass.

“I love the look of the new Gold Pass,” said Jacobellis. “You can feel and see the quality that Tiffany & Co. has put into the production. We’re so happy to have the support from donors that the Gold Pass program provides and now it’s a bonus that it comes in a little Blue Box!”

All USSA Gold Passes will be presented in the signature Tiffany & Co. blue box, a timeless icon of superior craftsmanship and dedication to perfection. Tiffany & Co. has served as the world’s premier jeweler and America’s house of design since 1837.

“It is with great excitement that Tiffany & Co. partners with such an outstanding organization as USSA,” said Thomas O’Rourke, Vice President of Business Sales for Tiffany & Co. “USSA fields the best and most dedicated representatives in their respective sports to create Olympic teams that are founded on strong personal values, and we are honored to help support their vision by instilling Tiffany’s own values of craftsmanship and quality in the creation of the USSA 2011-12 Gold Pass.”

In addition to producing the USSA Gold Pass, Tiffany & Co. will continue its partnership through other compelling fundraising initiatives with the USSA.

“Our athletes and organization rely on the dedicated support of donors, especially those who contribute at the Gold Pass level and above,” said USSA’s Vice President, Foundation Trace Worthington. “We are grateful for their generosity and hope to provide an equally rewarding experience in return. We know that a Tiffany produced Gold Pass is a great start.”

Introducing a Special Early Release, Gnu “Ladies Choice” The Jamie Anderson Edition

Seattle, WA (September 1, 2011) – Gnu introduces the special, early release of “Ladies Choice” a snowboard designed for and with full input from Jamie Anderson, the world’s most progressive female freestyle rider. Starting this fall in a limited edition run, Gnu shares the snowboard that helped Jamie to win virtually every major slopestyle competition last season. The Ladies Choice blends Jamie’s favorite shapes, flexes and geometries with many of Gnu’s award winning technologies including Magne-Traction, Pickle Tech and C2 Power Banana contours for a proven winning combination.

“It’s amazing! This board is designed for my riding style and everything I like to do,” Jamie says of the Gnu Ladies Choice. “It’s the best board I’ve ever ridden. I couldn’t be happier!”

No woman in the history of snowboarding has dominated slopestyle and freestyle snowboarding to the extent that Jamie has over the past five years. The snowboarders with jobs at Gnu were very excited to work with her to create the ultimate freestyle performance board.

“It’s been amazing to watch Jamie progress over the years and grow into the rider she is today,” says Barrett Christy, Brand Manager for Gnu Women’s. “She has such smooth style, total confidence, and she loves snowboarding. We worked together to blend her favorite shape, flex, and tech into this really fun freestyle board. I can’t wait to see what Jamie does next on her board!”

Jamie spent her summer at home in Tahoe enjoying California’s extended winter and making subtle refinements to the “Ladies Choice” before introducing it to the world. Then she put it to a final test at the New Zealand Open and came away with first place in slopestyle, her fifth title at the contest and the MINI Creative Use of Space award for her half-cab 5-0 to b/s 180. Looking to repeat a TTR World Tour championship for the third straight year, Jamie is leading the tour rankings following this summer’s win.

Technology included:
Pickle Tech: Balance through Asymmetry. Jamie knows there’s a huge difference between your turn mechanics on your toe-side and heel-side edges. Gnu’s Pickle Tech asymmetric sidecuts perfectly balance nature’s asymmetry.

Magne-Traction: Serrated edges give great edge hold, slide boxes and rails with ease and allow Jamie to set up for big park jumps with complete confidence.

C2 Banana Technology: Camber / Banana combination contour gives the best of both worlds. Camber at each end offers stability during big landings and takeoffs at speed, while banana goes between your feet for catch-free freestyle, unreal float in pow and great carving even on hard pack and ice.

Also features: Quasi Glass, AG 1 lightweight, poppy, farmed, sustainable wood core and a sintered base

Available this fall in a Gnu early release, limited run
Msrp $539.95
Sizes 148.5cm and 151.5cm

Easy to ride, maximum performance, hand-built by snowboarders with jobs in the U.S.A.

Mervin Manufacturing is the leading designer and manufacturer of snowboarding and skateboarding products built at the world’s most environMENTAL snowboard factory by people who ride them. Mervin Manufacturing was founded by snowboarders Mike Olson and Pete Saari in 1977. In an industry where virtually every other snowboard company has moved production to China or offshore, Mervin is the longest running and last major snowboard factory in the U.S.A. Based out of Carlsborg, Washington, between the rugged Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, Mervin is a direct link between riding and manufacturing.
