0Hard to believe it’s 2009 already, and what a year it’s been. Yesterday saw the swearing in of our new President, and hopefully the dawn of a new age. Please join us in celebrating the new year by contributing to Protect Our Winters, a non-profit organization dedicated to reversing the global warming crisis by uniting the winter sports community: www.protectourwinters.org
The SIA tradeshow is just around the corner, the final show in Vegas. As usual, we’ll be there bringing you first-hand accounts of next year’s new goodies and partaking in the blow-out festivities. There will be a few minor changes to the site over the next week, one big step will be better incorporating the Photo Vault into the rest of the site, allowing us to post more photos more quickly, especially from events like SIA.
The new review engine is working great, and you can join us in posting reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) products and resorts. For detailed instructions on how to post a review, head over here: Review Instructions

0It’s shred time! There is nothing like those first few turns when you haven’t been on a board for months. Talk about a winter wonderland! We hit the park early this season to re-initiate our legs and haven’t looked back. We’re excited for another season and, in case you haven’t scrolled through the many new reviews that are up (great for holiday shopping ideas!), we do have a lot of new stuff up and reviewed and more is coming. We also are working on additional interviews and articles.
Enough about us, we want to hear from you. The new review engine is live and now you can join us in posting reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) products and resorts. For detailed instructions on how to post reviews, head over here: Review Instructions
Sunday River Is Open
0That’s right — Sunday River is the first ski resort to open in the Northeast for the 08/09 Winter Season. The Locke Mountain Triple ran this afternoon and T2 opened for skiing and riding.
Come on up tomorrow for our second annual Halloween celebration and first full day of the season. Lift tickets on Halloween will be free for anyone in costume. (more…)
Write reviews to win this years top snowboard videos
0Throughout the winter 08/09 season we’ll be doing monthly giveaways of snowboard gear, and all you have to do to enter is write a few reviews.
For the month of October we’ll be giving away snowboard movies every week to the reviewers who post the most reviews. No set numbers, it might be one movie each to four different reviewers one week and something else the next.

We have multiple copies of: All Day Every Day, Down With People, Ready, Finger on da Trigga, Knockout, Boned Age, Double Decade, Heart Films Vol 3, Stack Footy, Gold Country, Working Out The Kinks, Let It Ride, Thanks In Advance, Technicolour, It’s Always Snowing Somewhere, My Own Two Feet, Knock On Wood, and several others to give away.
While we do now allow anonymous reviews on SBG, you must post reviews from a registered account to be eligible for contest giveaways, anonymous reviews are not eligible. But that’s okay, account registration is free and easy!
Here’s how to post a review on SBG:
Open your closet and find some snowboard gear you want to review. This can be just about anything, from boards, boots, and bindings, to outerwear, helmets, and goggles, or even electronics like cameras and music players. We also have a resort review section if you would rather review a resort.
1. First you’ll need to register an account on SBG:
Register Account
Make sure to use a valid email address to be notified if you win.
2. Once you’ve got yourself an SBG review account, go to:
www.snowboarderguide.com/reviews
3. Choose product or resort reviews.
Navigate through the categories, to the category that best describes the item you want to review.
If your item isn’t already listed, then click “Suggest New Product.” Fill out the details. If you have a picture of the item, go ahead and upload that too, but it isn’t required.
4. When you’re done, hit submit, it will now let you review your item.
Fill out the fields, write your review of the product, and hit submit. You’re done!
5. Reviews will then be moderated by our staff, so they won’t show up on the site right away. Feel free to submit more than one review.
Each review you write that is approved by out moderators gets you one entry into our monthly drawing. In addition, there is a prize for the reviewer with the most accepted reviews each month.
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, on the process. Please drop us a line at info@sbgmag.com or use the Contact Form.
