The North Face Masters Arrives at Alyeska, Alaska

March 26, 2008—The final stop of The North Face Masters competitive big mountain snowboarding tour arrives at the famed Alyeska Resort in Alaska’s Chugach Mountains April 2-6, 2008. The two-stop tour is the first competitive snowboarding series specifically tailored to fill a competition gap in the sport of big mountain snowboarding. Alyeska Resort Opens with 130" of New Snow

Girdwood, Alaska –November 15, 2007 – With the 130 inches that fell since November 1, Alyeska Resort mountain crews have been hard at work preparing the upper-mountain for the first opening of the 2007-2008 season. Alyeska Resort Goes Green

GIRDWOOD, AK – Alyeska Resort announced today that it was offsetting the carbon footprint of 100 percent of the energy used by its Tram by purchasing 403,200 kilowatt-hours of annual renewable energy over the next ten years. Alyeska Resort’s purchased the carbon footprint offset through a partnership with Denali Green Tag’s Tour Green Program and Bonneville Environmental Foundation’s (BEF) SkiGreen program which provides clean energy options throughout the State of Alaska. “The Denali Green Tag program affords the resort and its customers an opportunity not only to offset much of Alyeska’s carbon footprint, but to do so in support of renewable energy resources right here at home, more specifically the Fire Island wind project,” commented John Byrne, Alyeska Resort owner. “I would like to thank Larry Daniels, Jason Lott, and Rosey Fletcher for bringing this issue to the forefront. Alaska’s Largest Ski Resort Gets Major Facelift!

Anchorage, Alaska, Oct. 3, 2007- Alyeska Resort, home of the 2005 and 2007 U.S. Alpine Championships, is currently in the midst of a three phase, multi-million dollar renovation project enhancing The Hotel Alyeska and Mount Alyeska.
