Sugarloaf To Open For Skiing And Riding On Nov. 21

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Thanks in large part to favorable snowmaking temperatures and offseason upgrades to its snowmaking system, Sugarloaf will kick off the 2008-09 winter season on Friday, November 21. The resort plans to open with skiing and riding on five trails covering 1,750 vertical feet, all serviced by the SuperQuad chairlift.

Offseason enhancements to Sugarloaf’s snowmaking system increased the resort’s snowmaking capacity by more than 20 percent, and allowed for snowmaking on all five opening day trails simultaneously. Upgrades included six new water pumps, 50 new HKD snowguns, 25 new Boyne Low-E Fan guns, and new snowmaking pipe to the summit.   Continue Reading »

Incline Village, NV- The Eastern Region of the National Ski Patrol just named Diamond Peak Patrol Director Dennis Griffiths Patrol Director of the Year and veteran Diamond Peak ski patroller Jim Whitson Pro Patroller of the Year. This region includes all Lake Tahoe area ski resorts. Backyard Bang Descends on The Pearl This Saturday Nov. 22nd

PORTLAND, ORE. (Nov. 20, 2008) – The best up and coming Ams from the Pacific Northwest and beyond descend on the Pearl District this Saturday November 22nd at noon for a homegrown rail jam in the backyard of The Art Institute in Portland, Oregon.

Support theses hungry young riders Saturday on NW 11th and Davis from noon to 4. Grab a Cobra Dog, win free prizes, pose in the photo booth and stop by the sponsor zone for stickers, info and fun games.

Finger Lakes Ski Season Opens Early

Mount Snow Opening With Five Top To Bottom Runs

Thanks To A Solid Week Of Snowmaking And A Little Help From Natural Accumulation, Vermont’s Southernmost Ski Resort Will Start The Season With Five Top-to-bottom Runs On Three Mountain Faces, Including Two Full Terrain Parks And Three High Speed Lifts.

Opening Day at Sun Peaks Resort – Sunday, November 23

November 19, 2008 – Sun Peaks, BC – The Austrian Ski Team has been training at Sun Peaks all week and with snow in the forecast, Sun Peaks is set to open the mountain to the general public.

Sun Peaks Resort will be open for limited skiing on Sunday, November 23, 2008. The Sunburst Chairlift will open at 9am for both up and down loading of guests. Elevation Chair will be operating for skiing and riding on the Cahilty and Upper Five Mile only.
