Alp-n-Rock, Ultra-Luxe Lifestyle Apparel Offers T-Shirt Therapy for Tough Times
3Alp-n-Rock a fresh young brand from California, is using “T-Shirt therapy” to resonate with consumers. It grew from 15 to 100 retailers from 2008 to 2009 and has roughly quadrupled its sales since last year indicating that its luxury, eco-friendly T shirts with powerful messages such as Fallen, Temptation or Desire are appealing to consumers ( who are not blinking at price points of between $150 to $200).

Venture Partners With Protect Our Winters For Green Board Graphics Contest
0Silverton, CO – October 12, 2009 – Venture Snowboards is proud to announce a partnership with Protect Our Winters.
Protect Our Winters (POW) is a non-profit environmental organization formed in 2007 by professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones. The organization’s mission is to reverse the global warming crisis by uniting and mobilizing the winter sports community to have a direct and positive impact on climate change. For the winter 2009/2010 season, Venture will emblazon all its Euphoria powder boards – both solid and split – with the POW logo, and donate a portion of sales from these boards to POW.
In addition, Venture and POW are sponsoring a snowboard graphic contest to increase awareness of environmental issues. Through January 1, 2010, Venture is accepting submissions of artwork that focus on winter, the environment, and activism. The winning design will be incorporated into a run of special edition POW boards for winter 2010/2011. (more…)
Burton Techknow Tuesday – True Fit
5So imagine if you had to spend more than a year traveling around finding and measuring size 7 feet- better than digging a ditch or something, but pretty gross. Fortunately for all the women out there though, our engineers were ok with doing that and on top of taking foot and calf measurements on more than 40 ladies feet they spent more than 2,500 hours testing the results and creating our True Fit™ design. Rome PureFlex Lacing Sneak Peak
2I don’t usually show stuff for the next year to anybody, but we just got the 2011 boot samples in and I’m stoked about the PureFlex lacing system boots which the SDS has been working on for the past two years. As Product Manager for boots, it’s really my job, what I’m supposed to do. But it’s been just a fun and totally immersive experience, kinda like laboring on a piece of art, eating cold pizza, not taking showers, trapped in my own apartment, losing 10 lbs (honestly been there before) then finally seeing it come together in the final stages. It’s very rewarding. We started off with a clean slate, to try to do something that’s different from anyone else. We talked to shops, we listened to riders. (more…)

Jackson Hole and Resorts Tapped Announce Launch of iPhone App
