Burton Does Korea and Tokyo

The Burton World Tour crew visited Tokyo on Monday to celebrate the first anniversary of the Burton Tokyo Store. Jeremy Jones, Shaun White, Trevor Andrew, Nicolas Müller, Mads Jonnson, Tadashi Fuse, Anne Flore Marxer, many Burton Japan riders, and special guest Analog skater Arto Sari were greeted by a crowd of about 300 loyal fans. The invite only event saw the first showing in Tokyo of “Thanks In Advance” just before the riders arrived. The team fielded questions from the audience and blew out the candles on a huge birthday cake in the shape of a snowboard that was shared with the crowd. The riders all had some time to mingle with the crowd, shake hands, take pictures and sign autographs before heading out to a late night Korean Bar-B-Q dinner. Speaking of Korea…that is where we are headed tomorrow for the first ever World Tour stop in that country. Thanks to everyone in the Burton Japan office and the crew at the Tokyo store for making this event a success! (more…)

SAN FRANCISCO (November 05, 2007) – ICER is pleased to announce the success of the third annual Esurance ICER AIR event. Building on the popularity of the inaugural event on San Francisco’s famed Fillmore Street hill, skiers and snowboarders once again took on another one of San Francisco’s iconic locations, AT&T Park. Esurance ICER AIR, which features the only big air ski and snowboard stadium jump in the United States, drew 33,000 spectators over two days for a thrilling action sports, music and lifestyle event on a bluebird San Francisco weekend. Burton and Channel Islands Celebrated Flagship Store Opening in Osaka Japan

On November 2, 2007, Burton Snowboards and Channel Islands Surfboards celebrated the grand opening of their flagship store in Osaka and are now officially part of the bustling Shinsaibashi shopping district. The two-story store is Japan’s first store to carry Burton’s latest snowboard gear and apparel and will also be the company’s first store in Japan to feature a premium selection of Channel Islands surfboards and surf gear. The store also features Analog clothing, Gravis shoes, ANON sunglasses and goggles, and R.E.D. protective gear. (more…)
