Hard to believe the 2007/2008 snow season is winding down already. We’ve been lucky enough to get a few early March powder days in, but the signs of spring are all too clear. If you haven’t started making your summer snowboarding plans yet, hurry up and figure it out, as camps are selling out of space fast.

In case you’ve missed it, the new review engine is live and now you can join us in posting reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) products and resorts. For detailed instructions on how to post reviews, head over here: Review Instructions

SBG is living it up in Vegas at the Snowsport Industries of America (SIA) tradeshow. This year’s show has been another great experience. Some things worth mentioning:
- DC has unveiled their new snowboard line
- Skullcandy personnel presented a check to Boarding for Breast Cancer for over $36,000
- We have been checking out all the up and coming 2008-2009 lines (some of which are really fresh and different while others are somewhat same ‘ol…more on this later)
- SBG has set up several interviews that will be posted on the site within the next few months

Other big news for SBG directly involves Y-O-U, the reader. After numerous delays, the new review engine is live and you can join us in posting reviews of both hard and soft goods on the site. Instructions will be posted soon after we return from Vegas, along with several contests, promotions, and product giveaways.

If December ‘07 didn’t bring you enough snow, then January ‘08 is sure to promise it. Colorado has been hammered with storms for the past couple of weeks, and resorts have been working hard to finish opening terrain.

After numerous delays, our new review engine is almost ready to go live. As soon as it’s up and running, we’ll start dropping contests and promotions like crazy, so keep an eye on the front page.

The end of January marks the 2008 SIA Tradeshow where we’ll be checking out all of next-year’s hottest gear. Stay tuned for photos and more.

A four letter word for you. . . S-N-O-W! It’s time. Resorts are opening. Get your stuff ready and make your plans. Use caution when inserting any of this year’s snowboard videos into your DVD player, because you are going to be way pumped up and ready to ride.

In addition to the video reviews that keep rolling in, this month we have added three new interviews that are posted under the Articles section. Snowboarder Guide was able to do a pre-season catch up with Andrew Hardingham, Kevin Sansalone and Andreas Wiig. It is just the beginnging.

Some states are still sizzling-hot, but it is starting to feel like fall in Alaska. The far north may be slightly ahead of everyone else, but at Snowboarderguide we know that our readers are already gearing up for the 07/08 snowboard season.

As the end of August nears, September’s approach is accompanied by the smells of the changing seasons. The arrival of snow will also bring some new changes to Snowboarderguide. We’ve been providing editorial based product and resort reviews online since 1999; winter 07/08 will see the beginning of a new review system on our website that will open up our website and allow any snowboarder to review equipment. This adjustment to our system will allow us the showcase many more products while maintaining the quality of reviews that distinguishes us from any other online review site. Continue reading…

Well the 2007 season is drawing to a close, and even the few of us that are still finding places to ride know the end is near. I hope you had a great season, and that you’re already looking forward to 07/08.

As usual, updates here at SBG will be pretty sporadic over the summer months. However, there will be some major changes in the format of the site, as we are able to bring some new features to you for the fall.

Stay tuned, we’ll see you when the snow hits.

March in Colorado seems to be the beginning of the end. Spraying slush, sliding over dirt, and hauling ass through water puddles; we’re losing snow at roughly 4″ per day, so enjoy it while you can.

We’re finally getting the old resort reviews updated on the site, the first of which are Steamboat and Winter Park.

The Snowsports Industry Association tradeshow in Las Vegas, at the end of January, gave the SBG Team an introduction to next year’s snowboard lines. Five of the team members made it to the show and we were all pleased with the products we saw. Many of the themes that came out this year are being carried through into next, mixed with some new and innovative looks and technologies. All combined, it is looking to be a good 07-08 season.

New reviews continue to be posted so keep an eye out. Don’t miss the recently added SBG History, found under “About SBG.”
