Product Previews
Snowboarderguide has compiled product previews, highlighting different evolutions and revolutions in the next year’s snowboard gear.
SIA.09 – DC
0After the big snowboard unveiling party last year, DC kept things pretty low key this year, but that doesn’t mean they brought a week showing to SIA. DC’s attention to style and integration between their various product lines really paid off this year with some great gear, from boards to boots to outerwear. The Mountain Lab line is an extraordinary collection, deserving particular mention for how clean it looks; also of note is that the boards come with a sticker pack so you can populate the Lab however you want. (more…)
SIA.09 – K2
0I rode K2′s WWW for a good bit of the 07/08 season and have been spending most of the 08/09 season on either a WWW or Jibpan, so needless to say I was looking forward to seeing K2′s 2010 line. K2 has changed up their line pretty significantly, and a number of their boards are now reverse or zero camber. The entire line looks great, and I look forward to getting on snow with them in the spring. (more…)
SIA Day 2, Jan 28 2009
0We took day 2 at the final SIA in Vegas pretty easy, but checked out some great gear from some awesome brands. You can check out our separate coverage of DC, The Program, and Transworld’s Rider’s Poll Awards and the Mix Master Mike and Snoop Dogg concert. (more…)
SIA.09 – Ride & Cappel
0Ride and Cappel have had solid lines for a few years running now, and the 2010 line keeps it going. Ride continues pushing forward with Slimewalls through their entire line, but have added a board with a urethane topsheet as well. New this year are some boards with temperature reactive color-changing ink in them, similar to Burton’s living color technology. The new binding strap Ride unveiled last year has progressed, updated, and is being used on a couple of additional bindings. Cappel’s outerwear style has been emulated by most other brands now, but they’re still doing a great job of keeping their style evolving and choosing awesome fabrics to highlight. There’s quite a bit to look at, and if you’re a fan of Ride you’re going to be stoked. (more…)
SIA.09 – Oakley
0It had been a little while since we had seen Oakley’s lineup, but what a great year to get caught up. Gretchen Bleiler’s outerwear lineup is incredible, and has definitely captured her fun, easy going spirit. The new Splice goggle has a great shape, and will be worth checking out if your in the market for a new pair. There are quite a few other pro models out this year, including Danny Kass and Shaun White, but the Gretchen’s line is definitely the highlight. (more…)
SIA.09 – The North Face
0We first covered The North Face at SIA.08 when they launched their new boarder-designed outerwear line. SBG was immediately impressed with the offering from North Face at the show, and then even more so when we did on-snow reviews of their 08/09 outerwear. For 2010, The North Face is back with an even bigger and equally impressive outerwear line. Here’s a quick look at some of the gear The North Face wants in your closet next fall. (more…)
SIA.09 – Burton, Anon, R.E.D.
0Burton is always one of the highlights of SIA for us. The sheer magnitude of Burton’s product line dwarfs most other brands, and the 2010 line is no different. As well as being the biggest, Burton’s line is among the best looking for the 09/10 season. You can be certain you’ll be seeing a lot about this gear in the next few months. By far our largest appointment, we spent 2 1/2 hours with Mia going through next year’s offering from Burton, R.E.D., and Anon. We also had the opportunity to hang out with Danny Davis, Kevin Pearce, Jake Burton Carpenter, and 9-year-old rockstar Lexis Roland, thanks guys! (more…)
SIA.09 – 686 Outerwear
0With a huge selection of designs, fits, and colorways, 686′s 2010 outerwear line is truly impressive. On top of that, the 686 collaboration with New Balance looks like it will be a winner. Their boot line isn’t ready for unveiling yet, but from what they showed us, it’ll be sick. Here’s a preview of of their line. (more…)
