Air + Style Munich Cancelled, Updated Result Requirements
Innsbruck - October 15th, 2008: After a successful Southern Hemisphere leg, the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour is getting ready to kick off the Northern Hemisphere season.
TTR is looking forward to a winter packed with motivated and talented snowboarders eager to battle for the Swatch TTR Tour Champion titles. The Tour will also see the celebration of two 6Star event anniversaries: the Burton European Open and the Oakley Arctic Challenge will both celebrate their 10th birthday.
Despite all the good news, in September, TTR learned about the cancelation of the prestigious 6Star event Air & Style Munich and the Slopestyle format of the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge (the Quarterpipe format will still take place). In response to these cancelations, the TTR Board has decided to assign a 6Star level to the O’Neill Evolution Quarterpipe format. The number of results needed for a top spot on the TTR World Ranking List has been reduced to 7 instead of 8 results. The Slopestyle format of the O’Neill Evolution, however, will keep its 5Star level.

TTR also has some exciting news from the 6Star event Nissan X-Trail Jam in Japan, which has announced a confirmed riders list last week. Among the ten invited riders: 07/08 Swatch TTR Tour Champion Kevin Pearce, co-founder of the TTR Terje Haakonsen and some of the top ranked riders from the 07/08 season. Go to ttrworldtour.com for a complete riders list. The event will once again have one combined TTR result from the Big Air and the Quarterpipe formats.
