Bear Creek Mountain Resort Announces Winter Improvements And Rates For 2008-2009 Ski Season
Author: Press ReleaseMacungie, Penn. – September 3, 2008 — Bear Creek Mountain Resort & Conference Center, located on 330 acres in scenic Berks County, Pennsylvania, has announced its 2008-2009 ski season rates, as well as numerous improvements to the ski mountain, including the expansion of family and teaching terrain areas, the addition of more automated snowmaking equipment and a new quad chair lift.
The four-season retreat is offering day passes starting at $36 for adults and $33 for children, in addition to extended day rates starting at $44 and $38 respectively. Discounted rates are also available on early bird purchases, made before October 31, 2008, and to those who buy two or more season passes. See the web site at www.bcmountainresort.com for additional information.
Upgrades and additions have been made with the comfort and safety of guests a top priority. Bear Creek has added fourteen new automated snow guns to its inventory, increasing production by 30 percent and allowing trails to open earlier in the season. These guns also help to maintain snow depth and surface conditions throughout the winter.
A new quad chair lift, which will double the resort’s uphill capacity, has a vertical rise of 485 feet and is approximately 2200 feet in length, offering 85 chairs at a speed of 415 feet per minute. This $1.4 million investment completes Bear Creek Mountain Resort’s five-year chairlift renewal plan, with all lifts on property now state-of-the-art and no lift more than six years old.
Other improvements include the relocation of the family terrain park from the bottom of Grizzly trail to Teddy Bear trail in order to increase capacity, the enhancement of the teaching terrain area to afford greater safety and no cross traffic, and the expansion of the ski patrol facility, which both have the ability to handle more skiers, more efficiently.
For skiers and snowboarders of any level, Bear Creek offers trails on over 86 acres of skiable terrain, including Sasquatch, the property’s most challenging black diamond, an expanded beginner’s area complete with a carpet lift and triple chair, and one of the biggest snowtubing parks in the region.
