Salomon And Bonfire Alliance—innovative, Authentic And Original |
Author: Press ReleasePORTLAND, ORE. (Feb. 13, 2008) – Since the formation of a new marketing alliance in October of 2007, Salomon and Bonfire have completed a series of actions to propel the brand forward throughout the US.
The new alliance is lead by Director of Global Marketing Brad Steward. Steward assembled a core group of people with extensive history in the shred industry, including Product Line Consultant Alex Warburton, Sales Manager Karen Craig, Global Team Manager Java Fernandez, Marketing Manager Amy Eichner and Communications Coordinator Rian Rhoe.
Change was first felt at the Backyard Bang Rail Jam in Portland, Oregon. Rainy skies didn’t stop the top Pro’s from bringing together the northwest snowboarding community (and a few hundred spectators) for a downtown throw down unlike anything the city has ever seen. For the behind the scenes TV show, check local listings and Fuel TV.
At SIA and ISPO the new Salomon and Bonfire booths were a stark contrast to the brand’s past. New dealers ventured in for a look at the Volvo Eco Design Award winning Sick Stick and Salomon’s rich boot offering, freestyle boards, and bindings, as well as Bonfire’s beautifully colored apparel line.
The Pro team is on fire. Jamie Anderson won her second X games gold for slopestyle in Aspen and is currently sitting in first in the TTR series. Team mate Jenny Jones is in a close second.
Jamie swears by her set up. “I’m so glad I’m on Salomon boards. I swear that’s the only reason I’m able to clear the big jumps that other girls can’t clear.”
Wolle Nyvelt accepted the TWS Rider’s Poll award for Rider of The Year in Las Vegas and then flew to the Natural Selection contest where his effortless style and innovative riding solidified that he is indeed, the Rider Of The Year. Wolle even nabbed two cover shots available on newsstands now.
Scotty Arnold and Jamie Anderson destroyed the Steel and Sky Rail Jam at the Honda Session, and swept second place. Wolle’s mini-shred proto Werni Stock hit America for the first time and turned heads during the slopestyle competition, just after earning a second place finish at the Air and Style in the Rookie Division. Salomon also signed dirty rail rider Chris Grenier.
Josh Dirksen earned 3rd place for Pro Men at the Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom. Product Line Manager Alex Warburton took 4th in Pro Masters and Marketing Manager Amy Eichner won the Women’s Masters division, with a time that would have placed her in the top 3 of women’s Pro’s.
Five months into the Alliance, we’d like to thank the entire Salomon and Bonfire organizations for their support of this project. We are working hard to create an alternative brand that is INNOVATIVE, always AUTHENTIC and ORIGINAL.
