Author: Press Release(Big Bear Lake, Calif. – November 29, 2007) – Big Bear Mountain Resorts today welcomes Female Rider of the Year to its 2007 – 2008 professional riding team. Hana Beaman brings added experience to the already stellar team, which includes veterans J.P. Walker, Seth Huot, Laurie Heiskari and Simon Chamberlain.
On December 8, Bear Mountain marks an industry first when it unveils Simon Chamberlain’s custom designed jib in “The Scene”. For her part, 25-year-old Beaman, who took first place in last year’s U.S. Open Quarterpipe and Slopestyle competitions and claimed silver at the Winter X-Games, is excited to return to her hometown of Big Bear.
“I grew up in Big Bear and I learned to ride at Bear Mountain,” said Beaman. “It’s a great feeling to come back home. Bear Mountain has a history of supporting and embracing snowboarders. They are always looking to what’s new, and allow the team to experiment in a creative environment that I think will really help me grow as a rider.”
With the addition of Beaman, the Pro Team is ready to take Bear Mountain by storm. Both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain officially kicked off their season on November 24.
