Heavy Metal Rail Jam Slides in to Lake Louise Mountain Resort |
Author: Press ReleaseCalgary, AB – November 29, 2007 –With the excitement of early season skiing and riding and fresh snow, Lake Louise Mountain Resort is gearing up to host its first event of the RCR Rail Jam Series with the 5th Annual Heavy Metal Rail Jam on Sunday, December 2nd, 2007.
Open to both skiers and snowboarders, the annual rail competition will be set in a jam format so that each rider has a number of feature options. Competitors have a chance to win their share of a cash purse, Helly Hansen and Scott gear, as well as prizes from Fresh Sports and MGT.
The event will be judged by a panel of industry representatives. Overall talent and skill will help the judges choose their champions. The public and media are invited to attend the event for photograph opportunities and to cheer on their favorite skiers and riders.
The Rail Jam will take place on Lower Wiwaxy. The entry fee is $20 + GST and registration is available online at www.skircr.com/compete or from 9am - 10am at the Powderkeg Lounge at Lake Louise Mountain Resort (Lodge of the Ten Peaks) on the day of the event.
All competitors are asked to bring a $20 bib deposit, and helmets are mandatory for the competition. Competitors under the age of 18 must have one of their parents, a legal guardian or certified card-carrying coach accompany them in person to registration. For competitors over the age of 18 years, there will be an after party held at The Devil’s Gap Bar (306 Caribou Street, Banff), with great prizes and DJs spinning, starting at 9pm.
The top overall male and female athlete from the RCR Rail Jam series (competes in all four events) will win a Helly Hansen sponsorship for the 2008/09 season.
