Eldora Opening Friday November 23rd |
Author: Press Release(November 21, 2007 Eldora Mountain Resort) - Eldora Mountain Resort management decided today to delay the opening of the ski area one more day. Eldora will open for skiing and snowboarding this Friday, November 23rd 2007.
Eldora was tentatively scheduled to open for Thanksgiving - Thursday, November, 22nd.
The resort operators made the decision this morning based on the quality of the skiing product. “We want to make sure that when we do open, we deliver the best possible experience for our guest.†said Rob Linde, director of Marketing for Eldora. “Opening on Thanksgiving, as previously scheduled, would have been a frozen turkey. This way we can make sure we deliver great skiing for opening day.â€
The cold front that came into the Front Range Mountain’s of Colorado arrived a little slower than expected. When the temperatures dropped on Tuesday afternoon, snowmaking operations were underway. The resort was able to make snow through the night with some help of about 6 to 7 inches of natural snow.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are anticipated to remain below freezing this evening with colder days and nights through next week.
Eldora will open on Friday with 4 lifts scheduled to operate and 4 trails including Hornblower to International on Challenge Mountain and Bunny Fair and Sunkid on Little Hawk Mountain. Lessons, rentals and food and beverage will be open for the public.
