(Big Bear Lake, Calif. – November 2007) – The 2007 – 2008 season at Big Bear Mountain Resorts brings more fun, more excitement and more snow than ever before! With an additional $600,000 investment in its snowmaking system, this season Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) will be able to make more snow than ever before. New this season are a variety of amazing new terrain features, brand new jibs designed by the pros, plus BBMR hosts the High Cascade Snowboard Camp and tons of jib-tastic events all season long, including the first ever first ever Goofy vs. Regular Snowboard Contest during the Wide Open #5.

Already boasting one of the largest snowmaking systems in the world, BBMR spent an additional $600,000 this season – on top of an unprecedented $6 million last season. While Southern California experienced one of the driest seasons on record last year, BBMR’s advanced snowmaking system provided excellent snow coverage with more runs and terrain kept open longer than most other winter resorts. Recent renovations at BBMR also include a remodel of Snow Summit’s Summit Haus.

New this season at Bear Mountain, “The Scene” will feature a revolving setup of signature jibs designed by Pro team riders Simon Chamberlain, Seth Huot, JP Walker, and Laurie Heiskari. These exclusive features will be unveiled throughout the season for your jibbing pleasure. Other new jibs this season at Bear Mountain include a 40 ft. long 3 inch round Down Flat Down, a Bank to Tank, a 30 ft. Kink Box, a 30 ft. Ledge Box that rises to 8 feet tall and a Gap Box. And coming soon, both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain will have A-frame and Rainbow Boxes for beginners.

Starting this jam-packed season off with a bang, BBMR has just announced the members of the Bear Mountain 2007-08 Team. Pro team riders are Hana Beaman, JP Walker, Seth Hout, Simon Chamberlain, Lauri Heiskari, Chris Bradshaw, Nima Jalali and Zak Hale.

Making history, Bear Mountain will hold the first ever Goofy vs. Regular Snowboard Contest February 23. With a $40,000 purse, the event will draw the best boarders from across the country. Another first time event at Bear Mountain this season is the High Cascade Snowboard Camp, featuring six-day sessions from March 16 – 21 and March 23 – 28. Snowboarders of all abilities are invited, and with the best coaches in the industry, from AASI Level 3 certified instructors to world renowned pros, even the advanced boarders will find it a challenge!
