The WSF announces the World Rookie Fests 2008: 3 international events are going to land in Europe in order to promote snowboarding and to give the most talented youngsters outside the “pro system” a chance to shine. Every WRF is reserved to riders born from first January 1990 and younger, consists of a TTR THREE(3)STAR Slope Style and a lot of other activities.

Inscription, Program and General Info
Every WRF will include a TTR 3Star Slope Style competition in the program, freestyle sessions to be defined (half pipe, rail jam etc.), avalanche & rescue clinics by Pieps, photo&video session and, of course, parties. The rider entry fee is fixed in 70€ per event (including inscription, lift ticket and gifts) while the caution for the bibs is 30€. Both to be paid in cash at the race office. Discounted accommodations, local contacts, complete program with all details will be available with the official press release before every WRF.

Every WRF will assign:
Tickets to Swatch TTR top events to be announced
10 free invitations at following WRF (i.e. the best 5 rookies, 3 groms, 2 girls in Livigno will win free tickets to enter the Czech WRF)
Avalanche transceivers from Pieps and equipment from other sponsors.
Each winner of a WRF will be the protagonist of a Tacky interview
The World Rookie Champion will get a Fresh Meat on Method Mag and a golden ticket to a TTR top event to be announced (in the last 2 season it was the Rookie Session at Nokia Air&Style in the following season)
Every rookie and national rookie team is welcome to join www.myspace.com/worldrookiefest: the best myspaces (according to the decision of a seleceted jury) will win limited edition World Rookie Fest snowboards.

The WSF World Rookie Tour 2008
In addition to the THREE(3)STAR World Rookie Fests, are being defined other Rookie Events at 1Star and 2Star level in Europe, Asia and North America while in South Hemisphere the Australian Junior Series are already completed. All together the WSF rookie events will realize the WSF World Rookie Tour 2008. All these competitions will ensure results valid for the TTR ranking and WSF is working on a special World Rookie Rank, which will let nominate the World Rookie Champion at the end of the last event in Ischgl (AUT), on 19th April 2008. Official calendar, criteria and general rules for the World Rookie Tour and World Rookie Rank will be announced soon.
