Who wants a free snowboard? What are you willing to do for it? Give up a spot on your body for some new ink? Its simple enough, just tattoo “I Love Ride” anywhere on your body and walk out with a brand new ‘08 snowboard. The 20 Ride fanatics that qualified thought that was a fair trade. There was a buzz around the Thrifty Stick Boardshop, as people watched the “victims” get their ink from the guys at Purple Lotus out of Silverthorne, CO. Purple Lotus drew up some cool designs for this year, a skull with the Ride logo, a heart with a banner, a snowboard and the classic “I Love Ride” script.

Ride Tattoos

The day isn’t over when the tattoos are finished. In fact, the night had just begun. It was off to the Bluebird Theater in downtown Denver for the movie premier. The line was wrapped around the corner two hours before it even started! Doors opened and kids flooded the lobby, eager to buy raffle tickets to support the Snowboard Outreach Society. Local boys 611 Production’s “Far From Finished,” got the hometown crowd fired up. Then kept it going with Mongo’s “Constant Struggle” and brought down the place with “Catch the Vapors” by Standard Films. With a sold out venue, more boards to be won, three great movies to watch and flowing booze, there is no problem saying everyone had a killer night.

Thanks go out to the staff at the Bluebird Theater. Brian, Dougie and Mikey P at TS Boardshop. Guapo at Purple Lotus Tattoo. And the Ride guys, Shawn Penrod, Josh Tillman and Dustin Audet.
