PARK CITY, Utah (Oct. 11) - The Chevrolet Revolution Tour enters its fourth season of providing top notch venues for up-and-coming riders preparing to make the jump to elite level snowboarding competitions. New this year, the tour becomes the main vein for qualification into the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, the nation’s premier snowboarding series.

Featuring halfpipe, snowboardcross and slopestyle, the 2008 Chevrolet Revolution Tour has partnered with Spirit Mountain, MN, Copper Mountain, CO, Park City Mountain Resort, UT, Mt. Hood Meadows, OR, and Sno Mountain, PA.

“The Revolution Tour helped me get to the next level of snowboarding,” said Brooke Shaw (Litchfield, CT), the ‘07 Revolution Tour halfpipe and SBX champion. “It’s a stepping stone to help you become the best snowboarder you want to be. You get to travel lots, meet new people, ride different mountains, have fun and win free stuff. I think the pipes, SBX courses and parks are sick.”

Competition is open to all riders 13 and older for halfpipe and slopestyle and 15 and older for SBX events. Online registration launches for all venues at 6 a.m. ET Monday, Oct. 15 at www.ussa.org.

In addition to the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, the Chevrolet Revolution Tour also serves as a qualifier for the US Open, FIS Junior World Snowboarding Championships, USASA Open Class Nationals and the Visa U.S. Snowboarding Cup in Lake Placid, NY. Also on the line is $10,000 in prize money, plus the top male and female junior riders receive an invitation to join U.S. Snowboarding’s Project Gold Team, an opportunity to train with U.S. Snowboarding at their annual summer camp.

The tour will again partner with the Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR), the largest series of independent freestyle events across the globe. As a two star event, winners of each Revolution Tour event will receive 400 points towards winning the overall TTR title. For more information, check out www.ttrworldtour.com.

“Spirit Mountain and Copper have been great partners for the Revolution Tour,” said U.S. Snowboarding Program Manager Abbi Nyberg, “and we’re excited to have Park City, Mt. Hood Meadows and Sno Mountain come on board.” Nyberg also said the Spirit Mountain event would feature Junior Jam halfpipe and slopestyle competitions for riders 12 and under.
