“We are excited to have The Canyons joining the Burton LTR family of resorts,” says Jeff Boliba, Global Resort Director for Burton. “New riders at The Canyons will really benefit from taking their first turns on Burton LTR gear, which is by far the best equipment to learn on because it’s designed to make linking turns easy and fun from the start.”

Snowboarding can be one of the most rewarding sports on snow once the basics are learned. For a new rider there is a magical point when everything comes together and the feeling on a board becomes natural. The Burton Learn To Ride program helps first timers, ages 15 and up, reach that point quickly and with greater ease.

Equipment in The Canyons rental shop will be Burton boards, bindings and snowboard boots, including a line designed for women. The LTR program will use equipment specially created by Burton for the first time snowboarder. The LTR equipment was developed to help the beginner link turns the very first day on a snowboard. Participants in the LTR program will spend more time standing up on a board and less time landing in the snow. The Canyons snowboard instructors go through intensive training with an official Burton LTR Representative to learn how to utilize the LTR products for optimal benefit in the lessons.

“Chances are with the new LTR program we will see more adults picking up the sport. When you take out the frustration factor with learning to snowboard, which the LTR program does, you will have more snowboarding addicts. The Canyons is a perfect mountain to learn on,” says Libby Dowd spokesperson for The Canyons.
