Jibbasic Invitational

Boreal will truck in more than 3000 cubic feet of snow for this one-of-a-kind event and only pre-season snowboard competition in the Tahoe area. Snow riders can actually jib terrain park features, watch the latest snowboard films before top freestyle snowboarders compete into the evening.

Gates open at 2 p.m. and Public Jib Arena opens at 3 p.m. A season pass or just $1 buys unlimited access to the mini-stall wall. Movie time starts at 7 p.m. with snowboard movie makers Blank Paper Studios’ latest film titled In Short.

The main event kicks off at 8:15 p.m. when 30 of the world’s best professional snowboarders jam the custom-built 30-step staircases made of six options rail and box options with a bus feature at the bottom.

“With last year’s contest featuring 50 competitors and 4,000 spectators, we hope the third time around will be even bigger and better,” said Eric Rosenwald, Boreal Mountain Resort Terrain Park Director. “A shot at $5,000 isn’t a bad way to start off the season either. This is a great way to get people excited about winter,” he added.
