Munich, August 1st, 2007 – In exactly four months the Air & Style 07 takes place at the Olympic Stadium Munich on December 1st 2007. That day will give an answer to the question whether last year’s memorable event can be topped. The stage is well set that the Air & Style 07 will make snowboard history again – the set-up as well as the starting grid is more than promising. TTR Champions, the winner of X Games 2007 and the FIS World Champion will compete for the title – it does not get any better. The Snowmobile Freestyle Contest will have its Air & Style premiere and will most certainly leave the audience breathless. And three top music acts, to be announced later, will fire up the expected 30,000 spectators. Ticket presale has begun on www.muenchenticket.de.

Munich Air & Style

The world’s best snowboarders will show their radical jumps and fine style on the well proven and further refined ramp-setup. Incited by last year’s performance the top stars of snowboarding quarrelled for the 16 starting spots. 15 Riders are already confirmed, leaving one spot open. The Who is Who in snowboarding is led by last year’s Air & Style winner and 3rd of the TTR Championship 2006/2007 Travis Rice. David Benedek, Risto Mattila and TTR Vice-Champion Antti Autti want to redeem their defeat in last year’s superfinal. The Scandinavian fraction is completed by Torstein Horgmo, Heikki Sorsa, Hampus Mosesson, Mikkel Bang and Andreas Wiig, winner of the X-Games 2007. Not to forget the reigning FIS double world champion Mathieu Crepel and the Swiss superstyler Nicolas Müller. Incited by stories of last year’s event, told by their fellow Americans Travis Rice and Shaun White, a bunch of young and wild U.S. riders will stop by: Danny Davis, Kevin Pearce and Chas Guldemond were last winter’s whizkids. That leaves one spot open for “Mister X”. The Rookie session is led by Iouri Podlatchikov, Christian Haller and Juusi Laivisto – riders who would be in the first row of any other contest. The strong German youngster generation is represented by Marco Smolla, the Strauss Twins and Elias Elhardt.

“To top a sensational event like the Air & Style 2006 is a real challenge for our team. But last year’s success makes it a lot easier, also to get the riders confirmed. And this year’s starting grid guarantees snowboarding at its best. From our side everything is set that the Air & Style 07 will be the benchmark in snowboarding again. Now only the weather has to play along“, says Andrew Hourmont, inventor and organizer of the Air & Style. He adds: “With the Snowmobile Freestyle Contest, that is replacing Freestyle Motocross, we will offer something totally new for the audience – in best Air & Style tradition. Something that they have not seen live before and they will never forget.” The up to 200 hp strong snowmobiles weigh up to 200 kilograms. The riders will show spectacular jumps of over 20 meters: backflips on snowmobiles are real breathtaking action.
