RICHMOND, Va., September 17, 2007 – Access America, the leader in insurance products for ski resorts, is introducing a new round of protection designed to give skiers and snowboarders a lift, even if injury or other circumstances keep them off the slopes.

Access America, which protects millions of travelers each year from the unforeseen emergencies that can prevent or alter vacation plans, is launching Season Pass Protector, a skier/boarder-friendly insurance policy that covers season passes at ski resorts around the country.

Now available to ski resorts and mountain operators for sale to their customers, Season Pass Protector allows skiers and boarders to protect the financial investment they make in a season pass lift ticket, which is often over a thousand dollars. Season Pass Protector debuted at the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) 2007 National Convention and Trade show, where Access America is a Silver Sponsor.

Among other benefits, Season Pass Protector includes coverage for life experiences that could hamper a guest’s ability to get to the slopes: illness or serious injury; care for a family member; jury duty; home issues such as flood or fire; a job layoff or a job relocation.

Season Pass Protector also includes several other benefits for skiers/boarders while on the slopes. Should an injury occur, those covered are eligible for up to $50,000 of coverage for medical transportation services. And if their pass is lost or stolen, pass holders are eligible for up to $100 to cover the cost of a replacement pass.
