Some states are still sizzling-hot, but it is starting to feel like fall in Alaska. The far north may be slightly ahead of everyone else, but at Snowboarderguide we know that our readers are already gearing up for the 07/08 snowboard season.

As the end of August nears, September’s approach is accompanied by the smells of the changing seasons. The arrival of snow will also bring some new changes to Snowboarderguide. We’ve been providing editorial based product and resort reviews online since 1999; winter 07/08 will see the beginning of a new review system on our website that will open up our website and allow any snowboarder to review equipment. This adjustment to our system will allow us the showcase many more products while maintaining the quality of reviews that distinguishes us from any other online review site.

Our new review system is modeled on Amazon.com, separating reviews into three categories, Reader Reviews, Spotlight Reviews, and Team Reviews. Snowboarderguide’s review team will continue to review equipment on-snow, and these reviews will be featured at the top of a product’s page as “Team Reviews.” Reviews submitted by readers will be posted under the heading of “Reader Reviews,” located at the bottom of product pages. Readers who are active on our site and consistently submit thoughtful, well-written reviews, will have their reviews published between Team Reviews and Reader Reviews, under the heading “Spotlight Reviews,” and will become eligible for some other prizes as well. We expect to have this new review system ready to start accepting reviews in October, more details to come.

As you can see, this fall is going to be a big one for the site; on top of everything else, we have a slight site re-design, new movie and product reviews, and several new categories of Articles, including “How-To” and “Interviews;” so keep an eye out for new content headed your way.
